The project aims to support 1,900 households with cash transfers in Kilhaweri and Mandera West sub-counties for a period of two months. Meanwhile, Save the Children will implement complementary nutrition interventions in the same areas.

Gencad, together with Save the Children, organized a stakeholders’ meeting in Mandera West and Kilhaweri Sub-County, Mandera County, to share updates on the new project, the Humanitarian Assistance to Drought-Affected Communities (HADAC).
The meeting brought together sub-county and national government administrators from all locations across the two sub-counties to strengthen coordination and ensure smooth implementation.
Funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office(FCDO) through Save the Children, the project will provide two months of cash transfers to 1900 households across Mandera County, supporting drought-affected communities to meet their most urgent needs with dignity & choice.
In the presence of the County Steering Group and Cash Transfer Technical Working Group in Mandera County, GENCAD successfully launched the inception of the Humanitarian Assistance to Drought Affected Communities (HADAC) project.
GENCAD International conducted a joint monitoring visit with Kuza Jamii II partners in Mandera County, together with the National Government delegation led by the Directorate of Social Services, Mr. Peter Miriau, & the County Economic Inclusion Committee.

This initial disbursement has brought renewed hope to vulnerable communities, enhancing livelihoods, boosting local enterprises, and laying a strong foundation for sustainable economic resilience.

We held a consultative workshop to review GENCAD's five-year Strategic Plan at the Amara Blue Hotel in Mandera. The meeting was attended by senior staff from the county & national government departments and development partners based in Mandera. We thank everyone who attended.
