@319ABW...soon-to-be the 319 RW and, proudly, “America’s Global Hawk Wing!” In a nod to our ISR brethren in the 9 RW at Beale AFB, home “Recce Town,” GFAFB will be known as “Recce Nord!”
Grand Forks AFB soon to be known as America's Global Hawk Base once the @319ABW is re-designated as the 319th Reconnaissance Wing, June 28. The re-designation aligns the host wing & the 69th Reconnaissance Group, which flies the RQ-4 #GlobalHawk. (#USAF/SSgt Michael Reeves Jr.)
It was an honor to have Secretary Wilson and @SenJohnHoeven at Grand Forks AFB to make this historic announcement! The @319ABW Warriors of the North stand ready to execute this mission on 28 June! #ABW2RW
The Red River in GF/EGF appears to be headed back over 46 ft. (This pic from last week shows the river a little over 45 ft.) This is well within our Flood Protection System but it does mean that our communities will be down to one bridge for some time. #2019Flood#ILoveGF
The Red River is down over 2 ft since its crest at the end of last week. The river is expected to go back up a little bit with the snow melt from last week's storm. GF/EGF will be down to 1 bridge for a while as the river slowly recedes. #floodprotection#bestinvestmentever
@elorajay @elorajay...yes, you are correct. I have designated Friday, 24 May, as a Family Day. With Monday, 27 May being Memorial Day, the result is a 4-day weekend.
@319ABW Warriors of the North welcomed Chief Marco Lara to the ranks of Chief Master Sergeant last night. Congrats to him and his family on this amazing accomplishment!
We had some good news during the snow storm last night. It appears that the Red River crested and started going down. The river will remain high for several days so it will be a while before we open the Sorlie or Point Bridge, but the river is dropping. #2019Flood#ILoveGF
Mayor Brown is very happy with the city's flood fighting operations. "Our flood protection is doing its job." Get all of your up to date information on spring flooding in Grand Forks at https://t.co/s7npTEFt4E #2019Flood#ILoveGF
Yesterday, we teamed up with @CBP to capture some video of the Red River in Grand Forks, ND. This was taken April 8 between 9 and 10 a.m. before the closure of the Sorlie Bridge. Stay safe, and don't forget, Col. Spencer will be hosting Facebook Live at 6 p.m. from the Red River!
The Point Bridge on Minnesota Ave. will close today at 2:30 pm. The approach on the EGF side of the bridge is starting to have water go over the road. The Kennedy Bridge on Hwy. 2 remains open. #2019Flood
Here is a picture of the Sorlie Bridge on Demers Ave. from Sunday. Just a reminder that the Sorlie Bridge will close at noon today. Later today we will have an update on the Point Bridge. #2019Flood
The Sorlie Bridge on Demers Ave. will close at Noon on Mon., April 8, 2019 due to the rising flood waters. Crews need to work on the wet side of the floodwalls in order to install the flood control closures. That is why the bridge is being closed before water impacts the road.
Heads up. The lower levels of Lincoln Dr. Park and both pedestrian bridges were closed this afternoon due to flooding. The Greenway is still open but be aware that trails are starting to be impacted by water. Stay Safe. #ILoveGF#2019Flood
Here is a picture from today of the Red River at 26.3 ft. (flood stage is 28). It looks like the river will officially hit flood stage some time late tonight or early tomorrow morning. As you can see the river still has a long way to go before we start seeing impacts.
The Red River is starting to rise in GF/EGF. As you can see we are still a few feet from flood stage and even then we are still several feet from any noticeable impacts in the Greenway. You can see updates on river levels in GF/EGF at https://t.co/s7npTEFt4E
Overland flooding is starting to impact rural roads in Grand Forks County. You can track which roads are closed online at https://t.co/s7npTEFt4E. #2019Flood
The @319ABW Warriors of the North are thinking about our fellow Airmen of the Fightin’ 55th at Offutt AFB, just south of Omaha, NE. A large part of the base is currently underwater due to massive flooding. Waters should recede later this week. Please keep them in your thoughts.
