Govern for California is once again breaking election law — this time for playing both sides of Matt Mahan’s soft and hard side campaigns.

David Crane clearly does not think the law applies to him.

California’s public sector unions are picking their next governor and the candidates are lining up to audition.

Katie Porter has ATU, SMART, NUHW, and UAW. Eric Swalwell locked down CMA and the firefighters. Tom Steyer grabbed CNA and CSEA.

The message is pretty clear: If you’re an Assembly employee and speak out, the Chief Administrative Officer isn’t a neutral arbiter. Instead, they’ll be the mouthpiece of the Speaker and slander the names of accusers.

The Assembly Chief Administrative Officer should be managing the house’s Human Resources, not parading around as the Speaker’s legal spokesperson. This is an unprecedented misuse of government resources.

I ran against Robert in 2018. His brother Rick was deeply involved in that campaign.

A rogue Republican pushed out 3 Democrats, I was one of them, who was later convicted of voter fraud.

The rumor was Rick worked with local Republican operatives to get Neil Kitchens on the ballot, to party line push the 3 of us out in the jungle primary.

I was a Monterey County Farm Bureau director and couldn't even get the California Farm Bureau Federation to hold off endorsement until after the primary.

Turns out Rick was on the payroll for California Farm Bureau Federation at that time. Before the primary, and after meeting with me in Sacramento, the CFB endorsed Robert and cut him a $2,000 check.

It was preordained for Robert to get that seat. Neil Kitchens was insurance.

I wish Cynthia Moreno luck in nailing @CASpeakerRivas.

This story reads so much like he and Rick actually are. It's likely true and I hope she nails them both.
