🚨 UPI UPDATE 🚨

A Bill introduced in Parliament could pave the way for the return of Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) on UPI and RuPay debit card transactions for large merchants.

MDR was removed in 2020 to promote digital payments. Under the proposal, large businesses could pay a fee of up to around 0.5% (or lower, depending on the final decision), while smaller merchants are expected to remain exempt.

The proposal is still under consideration, and no final decision has been announced.
