I'm truly honored to receive the William J. Kraemer Outstanding Sports Scientist Award from the NSCA.
Advancing the field of exercise science has been my life's work, so it is especially meaningful to be recognized in this regard by the world's leading organization for strength and conditioning. I am deeply grateful for this distinction.
Most importantly, I want to thank the many researchers with whom I've had the privilege to collaborate over the years. In particular, I owe an enormous debt of gratitude to my students—past and present—whose dedication, curiosity, and hard work have made so much of what I've accomplished possible.
Research is fundamentally a team endeavor, and this recognition reflects the collective efforts of countless colleagues, collaborators, and mentees. I am proud to share this honor with all of them.
Some of the highest ROI activities in business don’t scale.
Showing up at a client’s game.
Asking about an employee’s vacation.
Remembering a spouse’s name.
Care.
That’s the stuff people remember.

September 2025 marks my 14th year in the field and I can’t help but to reflect on how much this journey has been shaped by the people around me. I truly wouldn’t be where I am today without the support and leadership of these three individuals from @24hourfitness
Feeling blessed and thankful today. There’s no script or manual for all to this father shit. Shout out all the men putting their best foot forward and providing for their families
Excited to announce that our PhD program in Human Performance & Fitness has been approved by the University! I'll be looking to mentor a select group of students who have a focus on applied exercise/nutrition research in muscle strength and hypertrophy. More on specifics soon...
