'It’s time for the big four telecoms firms to step up and do their bit. It’s very simple: make education sites zero-rated. This cannot happen soon enough and we would urge them to do the right thing and to do it quickly' https://t.co/vBNa4vWZMC

A powerful image. These girls are sitting their university entrance exams in Afghanistan ...under a heat of 37C...on the ground...social distant...during a pandemic...because they know that only education will make them free

Very sad news. A huge loss. Such an inspirational educator and speaker on creativity. Still very relevant today. Remember listening to him at SSAT conferences and his brilliant TED talks. Sincere condolences to his family and close friends. RIP Sir Ken.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce Sir Ken Robinson died peacefully yesterday, 21st August 2020, surrounded by family after a short battle with cancer.
We will be following up with a further update as we begin to follow Sir Ken’s wishes and honour his legacy.
This is SO important. Schools that followed advice to moderate their CAGs on previous results have now been totally screwed over by the U-turn - deflating grades while others didn't - they must have a right to appeal (from an Ofqual adviser no less!)
On a results day like no other, best wishes to all students. And sincere thanks to teachers and leaders for working through a rigorous process of assessment and internal moderation to arrive at centre-assessed grades. We owe you our gratitude. https://t.co/KeiGHE9tbR
'Why is it that Northern Ireland and Scotland trust their teachers, and young people there are getting a greater sense of justice than in England today?': my interview on @GMB this morning (HT @ScrlNShare)
Quite extraordinary breaking news: Ofqual REMOVES mock exam appeals policy just hours after publishing it - saying it's now being reviewed

A rant before I burst. For a student predicted AAB With 6A*GSCE to be reduced to a BCC is unforgivable. Teachers have told her this morning “they don’t even recognise the results in relation to her and are powerless.” 1/1
“We think it is important that schools are able to focus on reintegrating children back into the classroom, and supporting their wellbeing and learning, free from the worry of being penalised in performance tables”: my comments for @ASCL_UK https://t.co/TgQXtHLgz9
For those of you now going down the what we really need is to just catch up their learning and not this... please don’t underestimate the ability of staff to do both. Sometimes solutions lie between the poles. https://t.co/mF4GxjATfu
“This should be a case of building confidence that it is safe to return to school, rather than through the use of fines. We would recommend that there is a period of grace while normal patterns resume”: my comments for @ASCL_UK on fining parents: https://t.co/m2bjWEOtqU
