Since Souther #slavemasters owned their workers, they took better care of them and supported them, compared to Northern #capitalists who merely rented their workers and hired them temporarily, treating them poorly and overworking them.

#NorthernFactoryworkers are bound to long, grueling hours of labor, followed by minimal pay and inhumane treatment. At that point, isn't slavery better for the individual?
