BREAKING: President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. confirms the exit of DICT Secretary Henry Aguda and Communications Secretary Dave Gomez from his Cabinet.

Marcos said Gomez’s appointment was bypassed, with PTV General Manager Lino Cayetano set to replace him.

The Commission on Audit has denied with finality Vice President Sara Duterte’s appeal over ₱73.287 million in the Office of the Vice President's confidential expenses, ruling that the questioned transactions were irregular and illegal.

In a resolution dated October 5, 2026, COA said the ₱69.787 million supposedly spent by the OVP on rewards for informers was “completely unsubstantiated,” citing the lack of proof that eligible non-OVP informers provided information that led to actual operational success.

The audit body also held VP Duterte and two OVP officials personally liable for the disallowed expenses. Duterte was identified as having approved the transactions, including the use of the cash advance.
