Sixty-four years of a free Uganda.
What began on 9 October 1962 continues today in every classroom, clinic, farm and business across the country. Every new generation carries forward the work of those before it.
Today we celebrate, embracing our sovereignty with hope and visionary leadership.
Happy Independence Day, Uganda!

Soft skills shape careers, yet the tools that measure them are untested in our workforce.
We brought @poverty_action Uganda and @TalentsEnabling together for the SSV Study inception, led by Prof. Joseph B. Babigumira.

A treatment's value often shows up only across a whole lifetime, not a single admission. That's what health-technology assessment is for.

Expanding Equitable Health for Every Community 💛
For a week, Bunyangabu was at the heart of this year's #21DaysOfYelloCare.
Through training, community outreach, environmental conservation and the donation of essential medical equipment at Kibiito Health Centre IV, we worked alongside partners and healthcare workers to strengthen maternal and new-born healthcare and create lasting impact.

University students are often assumed to be the best-informed group on HIV. A study led by Afra Nuwasiima, conducted by GHE Consulting, tested that at Makerere University. It surveyed 1,337 students. The results were broadly reassuring, but uneven. Here's what stood out.
One result stood out: students who had been sexually active knew more, not less.
The authors call this "seemingly paradoxical," a reminder that knowledge alone is not prevention.
The open question: who is campus health education missing?
July 1st marks the start of the second half of 2026.
Across Africa, $66B a year is lost to a health financing gap, and 150 million people are pushed into poverty annually just from getting sick.
Evidence-led solutions aren't optional. The data makes that clear.
