🦟🌧️ As part of monsoon preparedness activities, the Metropolitan Surveillance Unit (MSU), GHMC conducted refresher training programmes on 09.06.2026 for Entomology Field Staff to strengthen prevention and control measures for vector-borne diseases such as Dengue, Malaria, and Chikungunya.
The training was conducted in two batches covering Secunderabad and Golconda Zones under the guidance of the Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH), GHMC. A total of 586 participants, including AMOHs, Senior Entomologists, Ward Entomology Supervisors, and field staff, attended the programme.
The sessions focused on anti-larval operations, fogging activities, mosquito breeding source identification, safe handling of larvicides and insecticides, entomological surveillance, outbreak preparedness, field monitoring, and strengthening community awareness activities for effective vector control. 🏥✨
GHMC recognizes that continuous capacity building and regular training of field teams are a key element of public health preparedness and response.

🦟🚨 As part of pre-monsoon preparedness, GHMC has launched a Refresher Training Programme for Entomology Field Staff across all six zones to strengthen measures for prevention and control of vector-borne diseases such as Dengue, Malaria, and Chikungunya. 🌧️
The training programme, being conducted from 09.06.2026 to 11.06.2026, covers epidemiology, anti-larval operations, fogging activities, mosquito breeding source identification, safe handling of larvicides, entomological surveillance, outbreak response preparedness, and field monitoring mechanisms.
Around 1200 field and supervisory staff, including MSU teams, AMOHs, Senior Entomologists, Ward Entomology Supervisors, and Entomology Field Staff, will participate in the programme to strengthen public health preparedness during the monsoon season.
GHMC continues to take proactive measures to safeguard public health and prevent the spread of vector-borne diseases across Hyderabad. 🏥✨
