Sheep falling on their backs happens a lot — and can be fatal. If you find a sheep like this, grab a good handful of wool and turn it around.

It typically happens to pregnat sheep, more vulnerable to falling over.

So on this day 16yrs ago I woke up In Afghanistan, had no dream or vision. My own voice said I was going to die today.
I shook the lads hand in my section and went out on patrol, into the darkness.
As I was running behind someone I was propelled into the air. I hit the deck quite hard, immediately tried to sit up and that’s when I realised I was a dead man.

My right leg was gone, just the shin bone sticking out with no foot on the end, my left knee was hanging off, my left arm hanging off too, I tapped it a few times but knew it was dead.
I 💯 thought about giving up but I knew if I did I was dead, and was a bit scared of death when it came down to it so I decided life. Or at least try to fight for it whilst still conscious. That time I spent alone in a pool of blood took me to some dark places but I’m glad I went there.

I get put to sleep and wake up in selly oak hospital Birmingham as a double amputee. Had a little cry, not in front of my mum. Then decided to keep it moving. I was walking within a few weeks, and decided to run the London marathon the next year. Which I did. I had to know what I had left in me. Not a full tank but enough to last. And that’s how I live now. Just keep it moving keep cracking on keep fighting right until the end.
Today used to be a bad day. Now it’s just a day where I spend a few minutes remembering how tough and determined I can be when it comes down to it.

Leave them at home in the cool. If I see a dog shut in a car in the heat I won’t be waiting for the police to gain access. I will wait to explain my actions to them though after the dog is safe.
No dog has every died from not going for a walk or a ride in your car.

Just finished #clarksonsfarm2 Hysterically funny, downright frustrating and bewildering and yes, a little sad in places. It really has brought farming issues into the thoughts of many who knew nothing about the problems that plague farmers.
