With the change in leadership and moves already made by that leadership it's become clear that this is no longer a platform I wish to be a part of, I will be deactivating my account in the next day or 2, if you'd like a way to stay in touch please feel free to reach out.
@Cuissedemouches @delaneykingrox Ultimately the take away is you are learning SOMETHING the important thing is to remember that it may not be the best way to accomplish that something. As long as you don't end up in the state of "I've already learned this" and stop allowing yourself to learn more, they are fine
@Cuissedemouches @delaneykingrox The project that resulted from that 15-16 hours of course was nearly double the necessary size code wise, had multiple memory leaks, and performance wise was a slug.
Turned out to be an amazing tool for my teaching the juniors on my team refactoring skills ππ
@Cuissedemouches @delaneykingrox I've experienced this same phenomenon in the "coding" area of Udemy as well. I was recommended a video series by a coworker that was describing "how the Flux architecture works" and the series was nonstop anti-patterns well documented by the original materials on the pattern 1/2
@NervousGamedev@a20261 @r0cketRoc @TempestUnbound @delaneykingrox Mastadon is,
1: Select Server, (the standard servers have themes, but all talk to one another)
2: Create Username
3: Post
However the framing of the whole "pick your server based on these topics" gives the impression of "locked to a topic" and leads to selection paralysis
@johnmemes Conversely, If you are gaming on a PC and having continued crashes, DISABLE XMP before you perform any other changes... In nearly every build I've done in the last 10 years I've had at least 2 games (and never the same games) that decide they just will not run with XMP enabled.
