Global International Relations Section, ISA (GIRS)
@GIRS_ISA
The GIRS is the newest section of the ISA, encouraging theoretical, conceptual, and methodological diversity in IR and scholarly interchange across disciplines.
It was a pleasure to present my book Once and Future World Order at @isanet 2026 annual convention in Columbus, Ohio. We lost several panelists to flight disruptions & refusal of foreign participants to come to US, but had a great audience with lots interaction. Peter Katzenstein and Nora Fisher Onar were discussants. @research_sis@GIRS_ISA

The idea of #GlobalIR was born a decade ago @isanet 2014 convention in Toronto. Now there is a ISA Section named after it, & vibrant research & debate around it worldwide. It has given voice & provided a point of entry & intervention in IR to a new generation of scholars, especially from but not limited to Global South, many of whom I met at #isanet2024 in San Francisco.
