@fractal_verse@DrJackKruse@DamonRiddle3 Deuterium is a stable, naturally occurring isotope of hydrogen. It's called heavy hydrogen because unlike common hydrogen, which only has a proton, a deuterium nucleus has 1 proton & 1 neutron, which almost doubles its mass. Tritium, a heavier isotope, has 1 proton & 2 neutrons.

Rough ballpark estimate of the "multiplier", per a question from @LawrenceLepard
Pre-ETF BTC market cap was 700 Billion (as of mid Oct 2023). Since then market cap has doubled to 1.4 Trillion.
How much in flow was needed to generate that 700MM? I would argue, about 160K BTC worth (see attached graph), at an average price of 50K or so. So 8 Billion net.
So I would get 87 as my back of the envelope multiplier. Curious what others think. (My first back of the envelope estimate was lower, but i don't think factored in all the GBTC sales).
Once the GBTC selling stops, i could see 10x the flows coming in over the next 2 years. So add 7 Trillion to the market cap, or we go to 8.4 Trillion total, 400K / coin.

Doesn't Swan use Prime Trust as their custodian for their customers' BTC and for their BTC IRAs? Is the BTC at Swan/Prime Trust safe, especially the IRAs where the BTC can't be self custodied?
@WhatBitcoinDid@PeterMcCormack Was there a recording of the interview with Lyn Alden and Jeff Snider from May 17 at The Bitcoin Conference? I couldn't go to the conference, but I thought I'd be able to see the video afterwards.
Most of my stack was already in self custody, and not that much was on Coinbase. But I've now transferred all of my remaining assets off of Coinbase and into self custody. I don't think I'll be using the exchange ever again.
@coinbase@CoinbaseSupport
Heads up to everyone with a Coinbase account. Someone pretending to be a Coinbase Customer Support representative called me this morning telling me that a suspicious btc withdrawl attempt was made last night and that they were calling to verify the
a phishing email when they called me. I have no idea how they could have done that. I didn't get any notifications that my email account had been accessed from another devise or was in any way compromised. I'm disappointed that Coinbase didn't take this more seriously.
