One thing that annoys me is when GKs are compared using save%!

This graphic highlights why save% is misleading.

The ExSave% of PL GKs ranges from 62% to 72%!

So a GK with a save% of 68% could potentially be massively over performing or massively under performing the average.

@GKIntelligence @DickieLee Great insightful information.. personally I think it's the leader mentality that quantifies captaincy. As Richard said not all goalkeepers merit the captaincy job, given the primary common attributes shared which is communication. One has to aspire to become the captain..

@GKIntelligence @DickieLee Goalkeepers historically have made great captains but as @DickieLee rightly says we are defensive captains, in effect leaders of the defensive section of the team, stopping shots as opposed to shot stopping is a much unappreciated part of goalkeeping.

@GKIntelligence @DickieLee Anyone can be a captain because of different qualities they bring....lead by example, best player etc. GK’s have to be good communicators to make their life easier....put the right people in the right place at the right time by reading the game / players equals less work 👍🏼
