βVery grateful for silver, we pushed beyond our limits and are very happy to be recognized for it. Who knows? Hopefully, we have another opportunity to compete again and go for gold.β
Ninety talented students submitted applications for the fifty available spots, and our CCC competitors were absolutely thrilled with their skill and enthusiasm. What a unique opportunity to work alongside and be mentored by some of Canada's finest chefs!
Chef Rupert Garcia's journey to the CCC podium is particularly inspiring for the young Algonquin College culinarians. During his culinary education at @SAIT, this year's Silver medallist was honoured to be mentored by chef @HayatoCCC, a former CCC champion himself.
Each of our ten competing chefs was paired with a total of five Algonquin College culinary students during the high-stakes Mystery Wine challenge and Grand Finale event: three to assist with food prep and an additional two to join in plating meals for nearly 1,000 guests.
We're immensely thankful to the students and faculty of @AlgonquinColleg's Hospitality program for their invaluable contributions to the 2024 #CanadianCulinaryChampionship! Quite simply, #CCC2024 wouldn't have been possible without their vital support. π
