Distinguished Professor of Leadership and Organizational Behavior @IMD_Bschool. Don’t be a hostage to anyone or anything – or even yourself. Always play to win!
#Leadership under pressure requires extraordinary self-discipline: Choose only the top priority items and have the discipline to ignore non-urgent tasks. Multi-tasking is simply ineffective so bring your team to concentrate on executing a few goals at a time.
"How leaders can become secure bases?"

"Negativity is so destructive in teams, and many people often bond over shared-negativity. But leaders must remain ambitious and keep their mind’s eye focused on the positive, on opportunity and growth. By doing this we encourage everyone to play to win."

Whenever you feel powerless, remind yourself that you always have a choice!
What questions can you ask to change the position of others?
What changes can you make in order to achieve the outcome you want!
The world is grieving- some are denying it, most are upset about it, others are accepting it. At some point, we must all face grief and recognize when it is underlying obstructive behavior in teams and limiting motivation and productivity.
Read my article published in @McKQuarterly to find out more about the damaging impact of the hidden grief in organizations and how leaders can effectively address grief and support people return to full engagement and ultimately turn this loss into inspiration.
Think of the best #boss you ever had- did they bond with team members? Leaders must always bond, even with your enemies and people you do not necessarily like! Who can you create a stronger bond with in your team, and is there anyone who may not feel connected to you?
I would like to congratulate my dear friend and colleague @s_meehan and co-author Charlie Dawson on this wonderful publication and the great insights it gives! This is a must-read book for anyone trying to understand the power of customers!
