Wait wait dont tell me....
1) It gets mothballed for 10 years
2) It will be discovered by someone that it was actually a very good thing for Britain to have
3) It will be discovered that when it was shut everything has been corroded and nobody can remember how the software works
4) It will be scrapped
5) A new one will be built in its place for 100x the cost of just maintaining the old one for another 50 years.
@aja_curtis@EastHertsGreen Thank you Alex, very grateful to you and your colleagues for their support and the ideas they’re contributing, absolutely has to be cross party
RSPB Rye Meads nature reserve is at risk of closure.
Green Councillor George Williams @GKwilliams94 brought this motion to East Herts Council, which has agreed to work with partners to find a way keep the reserve open for public access.

I liked Ann Widdicombe. Too few politicians say what they actually think whereas she’d just bluntly state a view. It gave people an actual opportunity to agree/disagree.
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.

We live in a country where an almost limp man was dragged from behind a car complaining that he can’t breath, that he’s been stabbed and those charged with protecting him say “don’t think you have mate” and place him in handcuffs. No words.
Regardless of if he is right or wrong, it’s very worrying to think we haven’t actually had a PM who thinks deeply and is actually articulate for nearly 20 years.
"If we carry on like this... we're going to create a situation where economically we're not able to grow."
Sir Tony Blair says the current welfare and pension triple-lock policies are 'not affordable', and argues for change in the NHS.
I was at DFS on this day. One Delivery was recliner set on 4th floor. Some times people would give you a can of coke to cool down, this time it was a Turkish coffee.
@BritainElects It was a by election. A conservative seat in a green/libdem council. The conservative candidate was very determined have lost both his District and county seats in previous years. Greens campaigned very hard here. Surprising result.
This kind of politics really annoys me, fascist/far right as terms have become so devalued because of this. it’s an insult to the intelligence of working class people to say they’re voting out of anger or they’ve been duped. They vote for who they feel best represents them.
Tomorrow, millions will vote in elections across England, Scotland and Wales. Nigel Farage’s far-right party is set to make huge gains — and that is a danger to all of us.
Reform is counting on working class people’s anger with politics, but they are not the party for the working class, and they never were. Don’t let them tear us apart.
Statements that have now come to light from a handful of @TheGreenParty candidates are totally unacceptable & require immediate action. There’s no place for anti-semitism or any hate speech in the party. This is a society-wide problem & needs to be rooted out wherever it’s found
@FestAKINBUSOYE In my expirence Conservative/Green swing voters haven’t been that rare, there’s not a big leap from conservative to conservationist. I suspect both Green conservatives and Conservative greens are feeling poorly represented right now.
“Apprehending violent and dangerous criminals is a full contact and messy task which may appear shocking to observers with little experience of policing in the real world.”
Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley writes to Zack Polanski.
"This ideological gatekeeping undermines the very purpose of a movement that should be uniting us against a shared threat."

This review is yet another government threat to wildlife in East Herts.
Weakening the Habitat Regulations would affect protection for nature across the country, not only at nuclear sites.
Locally this affects Amwell and Rye Meads nature reserves and ancient woods at Brickendon.
In yesterday’s debate on the govt’s plans to hand Chagos to Mauritius (& pay them a fortune), I didn’t hear a single Labour backbencher speak in favour.
There are so many reasons why it’s an appalling plan- for our security, our finances, and for the environment.
We are handing one of the most biodiverse and pristine areas with near 100% protection today to a country that ranks amongst the lowest in terms of nature protection and whose politicians have already admitted they will allow industrial fishing to return to 99% of the waters.
This was one of the great environmental successes in my lifetime, and we are simply knocking it on the head - for no obvious reason.
