Our Book Exchange was vandalised on New Year's Eve.
The people who do this are the few and so many more people love and appreciate us.
This is the first major incident in the nearly two years of it being up - and that's a very positive thing!

@frankcottrell_b Blimey, where do you start! Explained to a guy about applying for jobs online, he was a carpenter & hated computers, finally persuaded him to attach a cv to show him how it worked & got a call back within 5 minutes, he was offered a job on the phone & high fived me on his way out
@redgierob @frankcottrell_b Taking your children to the library has a real link to escaping poverty in later life. I heard a really inspiring presentation by @JDLiteracyTrust on exactly this, its always confirmed my belief that taking your children to the library has way more benefits than are obvious.
Morning @jk_rowling! Is there any way you could RT this to help tell everyone they can download 1000's of quality magazines completely free to their device with their #library card? We want to tell everyone but #libraries have no marketing budget! Info on local Council websites

Wed 31st July 7pm. Unusually for our book group, our choice this month is a young adult fiction novel, by local writer Darren Simpson. The theme is what happens when you break the rules. Darren will be here in the second half to answer your questions.https://t.co/lRlrSwpWF3
#schools Did you know that @UsborneBAH gave away 300K worth of books to schools last year and have pledged to give 500K free to schools this coming year? I gave 3K away in 2019 so far.

So she wrote a fiction book about three Bontoc children - to give them back their humanity.

The history books and National Geographic magazines written by white men about the Bontoc people, that were incredibly racist and misunderstanding of the culture - yet still reverred as the definitive studies of the people. #BoneTalk#HayFestival2019 4/5
