Life Update: I am very happy to announce that I am officially Dr. LaChat after successfully defending my PhD on Monday! The last five years have been filled with substantial growth both professionally and personally and I am very grateful for my time at Penn State.

I am also excited to announce that I will be starting as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences at the United States Naval Academy this upcoming fall semester! I am looking forward to beginning this new chapter and to moving back to the DMV.

AA3023 - American Airlines Boeing 737 Max Denver to Miami caught fire on takeoff this afternoon and stopped on the runway. All the passengers evacuated via the emergency slides and all are accounted for.
