🚨Context/details🚨
The incident took place in Kentucky, US, in 2015, however, the clip was released just last year as a trial began into the incident.
Ally Rednour, aged six at the time, had been getting off the school bus in Jefferson County Kentucky on May 15 2015 when the doors shut on her backpack.
In a horrifying development, driver Melinda Sanders did not notice that Ally was stuck, and drove off.
Surveillance footage from the horrifying incident shows how Ally was dragged along by the bus.
Initially Ally runs, desperately trying to keep up with the bus until after a few seconds she falls and is pulled along.
The helpless Ally was dragged more than 1,000 feet along the road before Sanders was finally alerted when a car honked its horn at her.
She stops the bus and can be heard saying 'oh my god, oh my god' as she rushes down to Ally.
Doctors said that Ally suffered 'severe abrasions' to 12 percent of her body, and had to have a number of surgeries.
Due to the scarring on her legs Ally no longer wears skirts, and also can't wear jeans due to the rub of the fabric.
Her family claimed that she suffered severe nerve damage and PTSD, and had to undergo several surgeries.
Sanders was fired one month after the episode, with the district saying that she did not follow the correct procedure for children getting on and off the bus.
This includes waiting until a child is at least ten feet away from the bus after disembarking before pulling away, according to school bus driver and trainer Katrina Ferral.
