IGAD Convenes IGAD Leadership Academy Annual Alumni Conference in Nairobi

Happening now in Nairobi, IGAD is convening the first IGAD Leadership Academy ILA Annual Alumni Conference at the Windsor Golf Hotel under the theme Harnessing Youth Leadership to Drive Africa’s Growth.

Established in 2022 following approval by IGAD Heads of State and Government, and in partnership with the Government of Japan, the IGAD Leadership Academy has trained and mentored over 80 young leaders from across the region. The Conference brings together alumni from three cohorts to launch the ILA Alumni Network and its national chapters, strengthening cross border collaboration and youth led leadership for peace, governance, and regional integration.

What an incredible honour it was to be part of the prestigious @IGADLeadership in the scenic coastal city of Mombasa, the Academy brought together vibrant, passionate and promising group of young leaders across the @IGADsecretariat member states. It was an inspiring experience.

On the fourth day of training, participants teamed up in country groups to present their action plans and key messages for driving change back home. Backed by the facilitators, the participants also committed to excellence in their leadership journey.
