Thank you @CHinchliffMP for meeting GMB London’s Retired Members Association in Parliament today to talk water.
Our retired members are leading the fight to bring water back into public hands. Clean water is not a luxury. It is a common good.

Everyone has an opinion on the NHS. The people who hold it together rarely get asked.
So we're asking.
This September, GMB London holds its first ever conference for NHS members.

GMB London Region has donated £1,000 to Southend Foodbank.
GMB Southend Branch rep Pete Shrimplin handed the cheque over to the team, who continue to do vital work supporting local residents.
Our thanks go to every volunteer keeping this service running.

This is the reality of outsourcing in modern Britain.
Our members cleaned Parliament for years. They turned up before dawn, did the job with pride and asked for nothing more than to keep working. The Churchill Group looked at loyal, experienced GMB members and saw money to save.
The work has not gone anywhere. Parliament still needs cleaning.
Some of the workers have been made disposable, treated as a cost to cut rather than the people who kept the place running.
That is what outsourcing does. It hands the profit to the contractor and the pain to the workforce.
Our members deserve better and GMB is standing with them every step of the way.

Behind every cut is a life.
Inside Parliament, the cleaners who keep the place running are being made redundant.
Two kids and one income. Rent due. Decades of service on the Estate, gone in a signature.
The people who clean the corridors of power before MPs arrive and after they leave are treated as a cost to cut.
Stand with the Churchill cleaners on the Parliamentary Estate.
Octopus Energy says it isn’t “them and us” because staff own shares.
Try telling that to an installer buried under an unmanageable workload. GMB is pushing for union recognition, because a share certificate won’t answer your grievance.

Nigel Farage used a boat landing in Clacton to shout "invasion" and name check HM Coastguard for a headline.
He forgot something.
The Coastguard Rescue Officers on that coast are his own constituents and GMB members. Some were on that callout. Their pay is being scrapped in September, they have written to him, and he has offered nothing.
A concerned member at Clacton station puts it best: "It doesn't matter to us who is in distress. We are always on call to help those in trouble."
That is public service. Not points scored off desperate people at sea, but a hand held out to anyone in trouble, no questions asked.
Farage will use the Coastguard Rescue Officers for a headline. He just will not fight for them. #BackOurCROs
Putting a time limit on how long ambulance workers can stay on a category two emergency call is dangerous.
But that’s what East of England Ambulance Service Trust is doing.
They must rethink this policy.
This Mental Health Awareness Week, we're highlighting the vital role of community in supporting our mental health. Strong, positive connections help us feel supported, understood, and less alone.
Whether it's your neighbourhood, workplace, or group of friends, every community matters.
Let's celebrate the people and places that lift us up.
