Recently, I withdrew ₹7,000 from a State Bank of India ATM,

and later realized that 4 notes of ₹500 were damaged.

Unfortunately, neither shopkeepers accepted them

nor could I deposit them in a machine.

This meant a loss of ₹2,000—at least initially.

I went to the bank branch, but the staff refused to exchange

the notes, saying they weren’t issued from their branch.

The branch manager wasn’t available, and even my written

complaint wasn’t accepted at first.

I spent nearly 2–3 hours going from one counter to another.

Finally, after repeated requests, I was advised to deposit the notes into my account.

Thankfully, most of the amount got credited—but one note is

still held at another branch, and I’ve been asked to wait for an update.

The entire process took up my whole day and left me quite frustrated.

Now, honestly, I feel hesitant to withdraw cash from ATMs…

because a simple transaction

might turn into multiple bank visits. 😐

In return, they expect safe, clean, and nutritious food.

When students are paying ₹10,000 a month for meals, they should receive hygienic, well-balanced food with enough variety.

If the allegations are true, many people feel that the quality shown in the video does not match the amount being charged.

The incident has once again raised questions about accountability in private hostels and whether students are getting the quality they are paying for.

If a hostel charges premium fees, shouldn't it also provide premium-quality food?
