@GChernack 100% spot on. Most people dont understand that the reason the arotrain doesnt go to C/D is because the plan was always the demolish them eventually. Thats why you have the walk back to C from the current location which is under the new terminal E.

@RussellFosterTX The unspoken truth is that the People Movers will still need to be used for years to come. Even if they broke ground today it would take years to finish the Aerotrain expansion. The existing system started construction in 2002 and opened in 2010.

@ColumbiaBugle The problem is they don't fit with current capacity demand. Instead of a comfortable lounge as designed it is packed past capacity and then the driver has to squeeze through the packed people to get to the cab. The over crowded feel is what most detracts from the experience.

@TPCarney Terminals C/D need to be replaced as they were built as temporary structures (which is why when they built the train it went past C to the location of the new gates they are building now) But the airport already knew this and was already building a new terminal.

@ByERussell The rendering also shows the current surface lot as a surface lot and as a parking deck at the same time so not a high quality render. The above ground connection also has pedestrians crossing at grade with the departures lanes of travel which would never work.

@ByERussell Good plan overall, the existing master plan is great always just needed to be accelerated to get rid of the current C/D terminal as quickly as possible. Only downside is the new regional terminal would not have direct train acess.
