Jan Swerts ken ik al een tijdje. Jaren geleden maakte een gemeenschappelijke vriendin mij attent op het ‘kleinood’ ‘Weg’, zijn eerste album dat hij in de luwte maakte. Alleen bleek het geen kleinood, maar een clusterbom van pure, diepsnijdende schoonheid.

Dat is nu ook weer het geval met ‘Oud Zeer’, Jans 4de album, waarvoor Jan mij op uiterst genereuze wijze alle vrijheid gaf om met gitaren en sferen aan bij te dragen. Het werd een boeiende tocht doorheen de door hem gecrëeerde landen van weemoed en troost.

Exactly a year ago I played a short set in the @ABconcerts, after which I went wild with my sisters and brothers from @marblesounds. It was magical but also strange in those days. The next day I released my first solo album 'The Vessel' on the world.
