@doctor_oxford@theresecoffey Just as we thought the current cabinet could not be more dangerously incompetent, Coffee even manages to trump Truss with such an astonishingly stupid announcement. Unbelievably ignorant, catastrophic and pathetic.
@Hazel72466457 Hi, sorry, I’ve only just picked this up. A solitary large, tense blister like this could be a reaction to an insect bite, or occasionally to some medication. Bit late now, but I’d probably pop this and protect the flaccid skin. If it recurs, would need further thought.
@Gillian85093409 Besides breaking the itch vicious cycle, emollients, topical steroids (sometimes even potent ones), antihistamines etc can help. If that isn’t though, ask your GP to refer you for consideration of 2nd line agents.
This is eczema week. The therapeutic advances fit this condition are quite extraordinary and exciting. I’ll be doing a very very short piece with ‘Morning live’ tomorrow on BBC 1 sometime between 9:30 and 10am. 🤞
@Gillian85093409 How awful for you. I’m so sorry. Nodular prurigo can be devastating and is not easy to manage. Breaking the itch-scratch-itch cycle is key, but not easy. It usually needs a lot of input & support. Sorry I can’t help myself.
@Smoland_G We’ve had a biological for a few years (dupilumab) with more becoming available in the few months. Also JAK inhibitors like upadacitinib taken by mouth and really exciting.
@Smoland_G Hi, topically we’ve had Immune-modulators (like Protopic and elidel) for over 20 years.
These are licensed for long term use and flare prevention and I think are better than topical steroids.
@teegoodacre@RCSnews The honour belongs to the Royal College of Surgeons. I’m sure they must know how privileged they are to have your wisdom. What a fabulous appointment. 😀👍
This is incredibly sad and awful to read😢
A huge loss to paediatrics and really makes me apprehensive to ride on a road in the future
We need to make our roads safer for cyclists!
@dawngoundry525 I’m so sorry to hear that and would like to help. In order to ‘direct message’ and arrange to speak with you, I believe you need to be following me? I’m not really sure. Let me know how I can make contact.
I have been asked to give a live interview with Talkhealth on Wednesday at 1pm. The top is ‘Atopic eczema. The truth about topical steroids’. Wish me luck. https://t.co/anM68hak3b
@janicemackay62 Face creams / emollients are NOT all the same. Colloidal oat and ceramides for example greatly increase effect. Aproderm colloidal /Aveeno oat / Zeroveen / CeraVe / Lipikar baume AP+ are all worth that little bit extra. Remember sunblock too
Out for a walk in the countryside around our home. 2 joggers came up behind me. Didn’t hear them until they were 1m behind me! Passed right next to me! Smiling & SHOUTING in my face “good morning”. Too late to move away. How ruddy STUPID. COME ON PLEASE. Common sense please!!
Isn’t it just lovely NOT to receive all those vitriolic poisonous outbursts from the current criminal incumbent in the White House. What an outrage. I’d feel so embarrassed to call myself an American just now!
