Picayune Strand State Forest wildfire update: Crews will remain fighting the fire throughout the night. The fire remains at 1200 acres with 15% contained. Residents are advised to continue to report any fires they see in their area to the proper authorities.

On 1/19/26 at 7:45 PM, GNFR crews responded to a vehicle fire at the 76MM SB on I-75. EN63, WT63 & BC70 quickly extinguished the fire. No injuries reported. Thanks to our crews for the fast response and to motorists for slowing down and moving over.

Brush Fire UPDATE #5 at 12:00pm 5/23/25: The fire is holding at 250 acres and is now at 90% containment. Crews are remaining on scene and making sure the fire does not spread.

Update #2 May 22nd at 5:30pm: The brush fire is now at 200 acres and 40% containment. It is still heading East into the Picayune Strand State Forest. Crews are working to safeguard the at-risk structures on Sabal Palm from potential damage.

GNFR Crews are still working the brush fire, which has now increased to 80 acres and is in the Picayune Strand State Forest.

Greater Naples Fire Rescue District Crews are currently working a brush fire in the area of Sanders Blvd and Sabal Palm Rd. in East Naples. It is approximately 40 acres and fire crews are working on containment with Florida Forestry. Residents nearby will experience heavy smoke.
