Don’t go on for long periods of time in an interview as you may lose the interviewer or go off topic. Keep your answers concise and to the point, make eye contact with the interviewer to see if they are still interested in what you are saying
In an interview what happens when you misunderstand the question that is being asked or your nerves have taken over?Take a deep breath, have a sip of water and kindly ask them to repeat the question, this will give you a few moments to gather your thoughts and answer
When attending an interview present yourself professionally. Make sure that your clothes are neat and https://t.co/HJckLI3Wyj want the interviewers attention to be on you. If the way you present yourself detracts from what you are saying, then you are doing yourself a disservice
In most cases the very first question that comes up in an interview is “what do you know about the company”. It is important for you to do your research and find out as much as possible by going onto the company website so that you are prepared if this question comes up
Small talk – This happens when the person who fetches you from reception starts a conversation, make an effort to respond as this is the start of your interview. Don’t overshare information or say anything that could count against you. Stay professional
When the interviewer/employee fetches you from the reception, stand up,greet them, make eye contact.Let the person who fetched you from reception take the lead(this helps calm the nerves),mirror their actions for example:they put out their hand to shake yours – do the same
If your nerves start taking over while you are waiting in the reception go to the bathroom,go freshen up,make sure you still look smart and take a few deep breaths – remind yourself that this is a conversation between yourself and the interviewers and that you have come prepared.
While waiting in reception read a magazine that is available on the coffee table, you might just pick up some important information about the company. This will also relieve the pressure that the receptionist may feel to entertain you, especially if your interview starts late.
