- My manifesto is ready. A roadmap that draws heavily on my party’s manifesto, it offers Lagos specific interventions for the next four years. It is a product of broad consultations with all stakeholders. Therefore, to firmly establish Lagos as Africa’s undisputed commercial capital, I will, upon election, focus my energies on four main areas over the next four years.
- First, service delivery: freeing up more money for services and maintaining the biggest infrastructure investment programme in West Africa, with continuing focus on rail, roads and water transportation to link our suburbs and decongest our streets.
- Second, job creation: policies to fast track the creation of jobs for our youths and support for our brightest entrepreneurs and industrializing our state.
- Third, knowledge and skills: Enhancing our school and teaching for our young minds such that we build a workforce and an economy that will enable Lagos to compete in an increasingly competitive international marketplace.
- Fourth, health and well-being: ensuring that our people have access to basic health services, water and can live in a safe environment, reassured by a security system that works.

Omo, Lagos is seriously building. They are not joking with this 25-year massive industrialisation plan.
Honestly, Dr Hamzat deserves to run unopposed. 🤔
I have never seen politicians like this that seem more focused on development than politics.
He just needs to focus more on expanding road and rail networks especially green line, reforming (LAWMA) very important, and making heavier investments in the environment.
And my one request: please restart the Regional Road ASAP 😅🙏
They are on another level, honestly.
They are working so hard to keep attracting jobs and investments for residents.
God bless everyone building 👌
🚨BREAKING: The Southwest Development Commission has secured a provisional Rail Operating and Track License from Nigeria Railway Corporation.
The project will revive old unserved routes. It will connect all 6 Southwest states. Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti through a 44-city rail network to boost industries and GDP.
30th April 2026.
I address you today with a deep sense of responsibility and clarity of purpose regarding the future of our party and our dear state, Lagos.
A few days ago, I took a decisive step in line with my aspiration to serve by procuring the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for the 2027 Lagos State gubernatorial election under the platform of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC). That step was driven by conviction, consultation, and a genuine desire to contribute to the progress of our state.
However, leadership also demands the capacity to make difficult but necessary decisions that prioritize collective interest above personal ambition.
Following the endorsement of Dr. Kadiri Hamzat by our Leader, the President of Nigeria, and Leaders of our party in Lagos, and in recognition of the prevailing realities within the political landscape of our great party, I have decided to withdraw from the 2027 Lagos State gubernatorial race.
This decision is not borne out of weakness or a lack of capacity, but out of strength, discipline, and a deep respect for party cohesion and unity.
Let me be unequivocal: I remain a loyal and committed member of the APC. I also reaffirm my unalloyed loyalty and respect for the President and national leader of our party, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. His leadership remains central to the stability and progress of our party and the nation at large.
In line with this, I hereby fully align myself with the position and direction of Mr. President regarding the Lagos State gubernatorial process. Party supremacy and strategic alignment are critical to sustaining the gains we have collectively built over the years.
To the Lagos4Lagos Movement, I extend my profound gratitude. This movement has never been about one individual; it has always been about a cause, equity, inclusion, and a better Lagos for all.
That cause remains alive, and it must now find expression in our collective support for the party’s chosen direction.
I urge all our supporters, leaders, and stakeholders to remain calm, focused, and committed. This is a moment to consolidate, not to divide; to build, not to fracture.
Politics is a continuum. Today’s decision is part of a larger journey of service, and I remain fully committed to contributing meaningfully to the growth of our party and the development of Lagos State.
To the media, I thank you for your professionalism and continued engagement.
To our supporters across the state, your loyalty and belief have been humbling. I do not take it for granted.
Together, we will continue to work for the progress of Lagos and the success of our great party.
Thank you.
God bless the Lagos4Lagos Movement.
God bless the All Progressives Congress.
And God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran JANDOR
Big moment for Lagos and the APC.
Congratulations to Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat on emerging as our party’s Consensus Governorship Candidate. Your years of loyalty, consistency, and service have rightfully earned this mandate.
I remain committed to support the re-election of our Leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
This is a call to stay united, disciplined, and focused on our collective progress. Our commitment to the party remains unwavering, fully aligned with the leadership and vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Now, the focus is simple: to secure victory and advance a more prosperous Lagos and Nigeria.
Today, I received the endorsement of our leader and the President of Nigeria, H.E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, as the official APC candidate for the 2027 Lagos Governorship election.
I am indeed very grateful for the vote of confidence and endorsement. I am fully aware of the responsibility it carries. I am enthusiastic and looking forward to continuing on the good work and the foundation the President has laid in Lagos State.
Lagos state is an ongoing project because we are the yardstick for development and progress. There is still a lot of work ahead, we have an election to win and a legacy to protect.
I therefore remain focused on the journey ahead.

UPDATE: President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT GCFR will today and tomorrow commission a number of Key Infrastructural Projects (physically and virtually) executed by the Lagos State Government under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu @jidesanwoolu
The Projects are:
THE ICONIC OPEBI-MENDE-OJOTA LINK BRIDGE: This brand new bridge was designed to address major traffic issues and provide alternative routes for motorists traveling from Toyin, Allen, Opebi, Ojota, Maryland and other surrounding areas.
LAGOS STATE GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SERVICE (LAGIS) BUILDING, ALAUSA: This Office would digitize land records, improve title registration, and lay the foundation for a modern property market.

#GreaterLagosRising
Focusing on the first E in our THEMES+ agenda, which is Education and Technology, the Tolu Schools Complex in Ajegunle sits on nearly 12 hectares and serves about 20,000 students across 36 schools, both primary and secondary.
Before the upgrade, many of the buildings were in poor condition. Today, the entire complex has been rebuilt and expanded, marking its most significant transformation since it was established over 40 years ago.
New classroom blocks have been added to reduce overcrowding. The facilities now include a football pitch, sports courts, a health centre, a fire station, and essential services like solar power and improved water systems.
There is also a clear focus on inclusion. Dedicated buildings for students with disabilities have been introduced, along with lifts to make movement easier within the complex. A vocational centre is now in place, offering training in practical skills such as tailoring, plumbing, and masonry.
With an ICT hub and a central laboratory, students are better positioned to engage with science and technology in a more hands-on way.
Overall, the project creates a more supportive and functional learning environment for a densely populated community.
The Opebi–Mende Link Bridge is a testament to how strategic infrastructure can transform movement and connect communities in Lagos. By linking Opebi in Ikeja to Mende in Maryland, this bridge creates a new route that reduces traffic around Allen, Mobolaji Bank Anthony, and Ikorodu Road. For Lagosians, this translates to shorter travel times, less stress, and a smoother daily commute.
This impactful project, one of the many, driven by @jidesanwolu, showcases effective governance through collaboration between the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of Works. It's a prime example of different government arms working together towards a common goal: improving lives.
The Opebi–Mende Link Bridge connects communities, opportunities, and a better Lagos, embodying the spirit of progress in Lagos.
