It’s astonishing how the Scottish media suddenly becomes deaf, dumb, and blind whenever Rangers players are subjected to abuse from Celtic supporters. The double standard is impossible to ignore. When the situation is reversed, it becomes headline news but when it’s Rangers players on the receiving end, the silence is immediate.

And where are the police in all of this? Why was nothing done by the officers in attendance? Even more concerning is the behaviour of the female officer who appears to smirk while the abuse was being shouted. That raises serious questions about professionalism and impartiality. Supporters expect the police to act fairly, not to look amused while players are being targeted.
