The BlueSky page is up & operating. If you're there, give me a follow & come hang out and chat & whatnot. Obviously, I have not been on or interacting here for ages now. Not giving the crzed Musk melon my attention/content. at longbox dot bsky dot social. Much more chill vibes.
I am in the process of setting up my Blue Sky account. I've found some of you there, but if you have a profile over there, let me know so I can follow you in a non-toxic non-hellscape.
@TrumbullComic@BittrScrptReadr In season 6 of my massive rewatch of the,DVD boxset, which includes all the crossovers.
Just wish it had all the online content.
@TrumbullComic@BittrScrptReadr Homicide is one of the best shows ever, even in its later (somewhat weaker) seasons. Think it not being on any streaming or in reruns keeps it sidelined. Its DNA is all over many shows that followed.
@TrumbullComic As pop fiction meant to be read for enjoyment, some judicious editing & updating is needed. The originals can circulate as scholarly editions, providing context and as a record of their troubling history. Even "for the time" Fleming strays over some lines.
@SeamusBlackley @laurenboebert Another reminder it might be a good idea to have to pass an advanced civics test to hold a federal office. It doesn't have to be, like, graduate level. Just maybe the AP US Government and Politics exam. And the US History one for good measure.
#DynamicDC Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen 10, cover by Stan Kave and Ray Burnley. Has anyone explained the Silver Age audience's obsession with apes? I know they did it becasue they sold. But why did they sell? @DCComics
#ThowbackThursday 35 years ago this month. Swamp Thing 73, cover by John Totleben. It was challenging to follow up Moore on this book, but Veitch deserves props for how well he does it. @DCComics
"#TrueBelieverTuesday Tales of Suspense 36, cover by Jack Kirby. How can you resist a book with a story called ""The Gorilla from Outer Space""? You can't. The question is why it's not cover featured. @Marvel"
#DynamicDC Captain Atom 14, cover by Pat Broderick. The @DCComics revamps of Charlton characters were a mcuh needed update. Would love to seem them do it again in 2023.
#ReadingPile Wasp 2, cover by Tom Reilly. This limted series and the Ant-Man one before it are fun, with great art, story and design. #Antman#Wasp@Marvel
#DynamicDC G.I. Combat 258, cover by Joe Kubert. War comics may be out of vogue, and that flag would likely not grace a modern comics cover, but Kubert's skills are undeniable. And frankly, most war comics tell pretty anti-war stories, or at least show the cost of war. @DCComics
#ThowbackThursday 35 years ago this month. Action Comics 600, cover by Byrne, Schaffenberger, Perez, Mignola and Ordway. 50 years seemed like a big deal and ancient history then. 1973 seems like only yesterday today. @DCComics
