🇲🇼Last month, as part of the @USAID-supported Parliamentary Support Program delivered in collab. w/ @DemocracyIntl, our #Malawi team members Wisdom Lipenga, Janet Chingeni, and Maria Peiró Mir travelled to the UK for a study visit to the UK and Scottish Parliaments (1/4)
(3/4) The delegation then travelled to Edinburgh for two days at the Scottish Parliament, where they engaged in insightful sessions on parliamentary oversight and scrutiny with GPG Associates and committee clerks, under the supervision of MSP @SarahBoyack.
🇲🇼Earlier this month as part of the USAID-supported Parliamentary Support Program, GPG facilitated a training session for the staff of #Malawi’s Parliamentary Budget Office, which looked into addressing existing challenges to the PBO’s capacity to support parliamentary committees
Participants identified challenges to project implementation and formulated recommendations for MPs and local councils to strengthen transparency and efficiency in CDF implementation (3/3)
