💡 Idea: Secure Wallet Rebinding via Short-Time Window + Social Verification @LineaBuild

Hi @DeclanFox14 ! I’d like to suggest a simple and battle-tested approach based on real experience with compromised wallets.

🔹 The core idea

Without any prior announcement, open a very short window (1–2 days) during which users can rebind a compromised wallet to a new safe one, using off-chain verification.

✅ How it could work

1. No prior announcement
So attackers don’t have time to prepare.

2. Rebinding flow (no on-chain tx involved):

– User connects the compromised wallet
– Signs a message to prove ownership
– Connects a new safe wallet
– Goes through basic verification:
• Connect Twitter and Discord (both at least 30 days old)
• Optional — CAPTCHA, Proof of Humanity, or a similar verification mechanism

3. Strict deadline — 24–48 hours

Once the window closes, all bindings are frozen, and rewards go only to verified safe addresses.

👀 Why this can work

– Most compromised wallets are drained by automated bots, not manually managed
– Hackers rarely track delayed or custom airdrop mechanics
– Personally, I’ve used a compromised wallet and successfully claimed rewards from @KiloEx_perp, @zora, and @hyperlane:

• With Hyperlane, I linked a new address during airdrop registration — rewards arrived safely
• In other cases, bots didn’t react at all

If the window is short and stealthy, the chance of hackers reaction drops to nearly zero.

@DeclanFox14, this should be enough to give real users with compromised wallets a fair chance to claim their rewards safely.
