We are thrilled to announce the publication of our new article highlighting 25 years of research and conservation on orangutans in Gunung Palung National Park. Thanks to all the @GPOrangutans team who made this possible! #savewildorangutans https://t.co/WTa7h04Akt
Today on #GivingTuesday you can DOUBLE your impact! Every donation will be MATCHED by a generous donor through the end of today. Visit https://t.co/HC32b4OZnm and protect biodiversity, forests, and bolster human communities
We congratulate our Executive Director, Dr. Cheryl Knott, for being recognized as one of @DisneyConserves Trailblazing Women! This honor spotlights her leadership and all the amazing work being done on the ground to #SaveWildOrangutans https://t.co/83kxeIgGqT via @DisneyParks

We also use thermal drones to detect orangutans! Our Research Director, Wahyu Susanto, flies in the early hours of the morning before the sun rises so the canopy is still cool. Bibi and her juvenile, Bayas, seen here #OCW#orangutancaringweek
We leverage AI to protect orangutans by using drones to find orangutan nests. The images taken are used to train AI models to recognize nests so that we can conduct population surveys more easily! #OCW#orangutancaringweek#drones#aiforgood
1. It’s Orangutan Caring Week! This week we will be updating you all on the many exciting things we are working on and the ways we care for orangutans by caring for forests and for the people that live near them! #ocw#orangutancaringweek#landrights#sustainablelivelihoods
GPOCP/YP work to combat this phenomenon by increasing protected forest areas through our Hutan Desa program, support and training for fire-fighting, scientific research, and education programs about the value of forests and the wildlife within them. 2/2 #ClimateWeek
It's Climate Week! Research has shown that forest loss is associated with increased temperature and decreased rainfall, demonstrating how habitat loss makes climate change worse on Borneo. 1/2

After several very stressful days of fighting fires to keep the village forests safe, the heroic efforts of the village forest management boards were helped by the arrival of long-awaited rain! The fires are out for now, and the LPHD is already planting new trees!
Our Hutan Desa (Village Forest) program gets villages legal rights to forest areas that they manage and provides training for SMART patrols and more. Several of the Village Forests are under immediate threat by fire right now! Help the heroes on the ground https://t.co/L6OBrUu6mz
Fire fighting is ongoing near Nipah Kuning to keep the village forest safe. The Village Forest Management Team is working all through the night and day, and our GPOCP/Yayasan Palung team is doing what they can, but they need your help! https://t.co/L6OBrUu6mz
Our very own @AmyScott217 featured in @TheLeakeyFndtn podcast Origin Stories this week, talking about motherhood in orangutans and humans https://t.co/ZzdZGuSyvH

Udin worked as the camp maintenance assistant for almost 5 years, until he got promoted to his new role earlier this year. After 3 months of intensive training, Udin is now skilled in collecting all types of data that are necessary for the research project.
Last month we celebrated #WorldEnvironmentDay & #WorldRainforestDay with a special tree planting event!
More than 175 participants, including representatives from 60 different local institutions, came together to plant 500 seedlings in a local mangrove.🌿
