I’ve been thinking a lot about Fibro fog recently.

Fibromyalgia fog is basically loosing some of your mental clarity. You may forget things, can’t think as fast on your feet, you may have problems holding a conversation with others, you don’t feel as alert and can’t concentrate.

It’s hard dealing with this on a daily basis. I’m pretty sure my ability to speak coherently leaves anytime I speak to really important Drs or specialists.

I combat this by actually writing everything I need to convey down but in sentence form so I can read it straight to the dr or specialist I’m speaking to. It sounds silly but I hate the feeling of not being able to hold an intelligent conversation.

Let’s talk about gastroparesis.

Have you heard of this one?

It’s a condition of the stomach where it does not empty properly. It can cause nausea, pain, the feeling of being very full and distention in your stomach.

This is closely related to fibromyalgia as fibromyalgia affects our muscles and can weaken them. It also causes irritable bowel syndrome and other digestive issues closely related to Gastroparesis.

And ladies, did you know that your cycle or where you are in your menopausal phase also affects your gastric emptying. It can be more prevalent with the changes of hormones.

Makes sense as we are learning that female hormones also affect our fibromyalgia. More on that another time.
