GPR wishes a very happy birthday today to Jaime Alguersuari aka DJ Squire!

Jaime was briefly the youngest #F1 driver ever (19y 125d) in Hungary 2009 and started 46 GPs for STR with best finishes a pair of 7ths in 2011.

At the end of his racing career, he became a full-time DJ!

A very merry birthday today to Volker Weidler!

The 1991 Le Mans 24 winner with Mazda and a star of the Japanese scene in the late 80s and early 90s, Weidler took part in the first 10 GPs of 1989 with Rial.

Sadly, his weekend usually ended with DNPQs apart from a DNQ in Hungary.

#OnThisDay in 2010, a new F1 season began in Bahrain.

On the grid were 3 new teams - Team Lotus, Virgin Racing and last but certainly not least, Hispania Racing Team (HRT)!

Only the two Lotuses finished the Grand Prix, with Heikki Kovalainen 15th and Jarno Trulli 17th.

GPR wishes a very happy birthday to 4-time GT1 World Champion, DTM driver and GP reject Michael Bartels!

He took part in four GP weekends for Lotus in 1991; while recording a DNQ in each of those participations, Bartels would go on to enjoy more success in F3000 and tin-tops!
