This is the wildest World Cup story yet. If someone in Toronto sells a ticket above face value they get fined $25,000 yet the city of Toronto bought 3,500 World Cup tickets early and then sold them to taxpayers at a markup as a “revenue generation strategy.” What the hell man.

On this day in Tigers history: Armando Galarraga received a Corvette, on June 3, 2010, a day after his 28-out perfect game.
Galarraga took the lineup card to emotional umpire Jim Joyce, who was in tears. The two men shook hands in a sign of sportsmanship.
Still struggling so much with Claude Lemieux’s death. He was someone I talked about with about the game and the business of the game. I loved our conversations because I learned so much. Over the past year he had mentioned to me his desire maybe to run a team one day. He would have been a great GM. He actually talked to me about throwing his hat in the Maple Leafs opening. He didn’t. I talked to him just a few weeks ago. I was so happy for him he carried the torch in Montreal before Game 3. I’m still in shock. Still coming to grips with it.
