Thousands of young readers and runners from colleges & universities of Jammu Kashmir joined this inspiring event organised by National Book Trust as part of Chinar Book Festival.
The Reading Marathon, part of Education Week, marks six successful years of the National Education Policy. It shows that education must go beyond classrooms. With the motto “Run for a Green Future”, the reading marathon reminds us that just as knowledge requires discipline, protecting the mother nature demands sustained effort. On the directions of JKPDP President Ms. @MehboobaMufti, the Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (JKPDP) has decided to defer its Foundation Day celebrations, scheduled for 28 July, in view of the prevailing situation caused by incessant rains, which have resulted in the tragic loss of precious lives and widespread damage to property across Jammu & Kashmir.

At this hour of grief and suffering, the Party stands in solidarity with the people of Jammu & Kashmir, especially the bereaved families in Rajouri and Poonch who have lost their loved ones in the devastating cloudburst incidents. We pray for eternal peace to the departed souls, strength to the bereaved families, and a swift recovery to those injured.

The Party President has directed that a fresh date for the Foundation Day programme will be announced in due course.

Meanwhile, all Youth Wing members, party functionaries, and affiliated bodies are instructed to remain vigilant and work on the ground to assist affected people across Jammu & Kashmir.
