Don't fall for Elon Musk's gaslighting.
There is a massive, life-or-death difference between well-planned budget cuts and a sudden, reckless halt to promised medical aid.
Musk is actively lying about the fatal consequences of his USAID cuts. The US is not obligated to fund healthcare for the entire planet, but if a nation decides to pull back its global aid, it must be done responsibly. Ripping away funding mid-treatment means you are directly responsible for the preventable deaths that follow.
Instead of owning up to the fallout, Musk is flooding X with dishonest spin. He first challenged critics to name even one person whose death he caused. When people actually did, he immediately moved the goalposts, claiming that any spending cut inevitably causes deaths.
He is a dishonest charlatan trying to hide the fact that his chaotic decisions got thousands of vulnerable children and adults killed. That will be his lasting legacy
Public opinion turned against Israel so we’re seeing a full court institutional coup. ID requirements for internet usage, merger of U.S. and Israeli military. The committee to protect journalists declaring that Lebanese and Palestinians no longer count as journalists etc
@BasedMikeLee Dude, we all pay taxes. You want to spend it on bombs and corporate welfare. She wants to spend it on education and health care and the public safety net. Stop acting like the shit you promote doesn't cost money like the stuff she promotes. We aren't that stupid.
@SantoFellini@taliaotg Yeah, you aren't guaranteed a profit on real estate and Talia doesn't suffer fools. Maybe you need to get a grip and go touch grass?
@SantoFellini@taliaotg@BillAckman If you can't afford all the loans you took out, maybe you should sell. Investments are never guaranteed to make a profit.
@BillAckman Owning real estate is an investment. You are never guaranteed a profit on an investment. If you're underwater, sell. That's what you want for the poors, isn't it? People need housing to live. Maybe, making a profit on people's basic needs isn't the best way to run a society.
@BillWiIdin Research shows that when you work over a certain number of hours you don't really gain much productivity. This idea that you can work yourself so hard is a fool's idea of success. Working to the bone was never the good life. I'm not aiming for that at all.
@jas_d_barbie We were married 7 years before we had our first kiddo. I read Take Charge of Your Fertility to learn how to read my body. I used basic cues, no thermometers. Consistently pull out. Every time. Not perfect, but it worked for us.
🚨 WTF?! Prominent journalist Mehdi Hasan reveals a UN report confirming a Zionist quadcopter sniper intentionally shot a 10-day-old baby in the head.
The infant was being breastfed.
The UN confirms the Israeli operator clearly saw the mother and baby. Pure evil!
Watch | Israel Defeated in Bid to Block Red Cross From Exposing Abuse of Palestinian Detainees
An Israeli bill that sought to ban the Red Cross from visiting Palestinian detainees held in Israeli prisons was voted down after its supporters openly admitted that allowing humanitarian inspections would expose the torture and inhumane conditions endured by Palestinians.
According to the bill’s sponsor, the occupation government feared that Red Cross visits would become a public relations disaster by revealing the mistreatment of thousands of Palestinians detained without charge or trial.
The proposal was ultimately defeated, prompting renewed calls for the immediate access of the Red Cross to Palestinian detainees and independent documentation of conditions inside Israeli detention facilities.
@TVFangirrrl@Wydenzoo Um, I didn't say you couldn't comment, I just said I didn't agree with you. Isn't that what we're doing here? What point are you trying to make?
@TVFangirrrl@Wydenzoo Great, do that at your wedding. This bride made a different choice and her sister disrespected it with her wild entitlement. Sister is the a-hole in the story.
.@elonmusk says that no one can name a person who died from his aid cuts. In fact, I've met the kids who are dying, and I've talked to the families who lost children. In my columns, I've cited many, many names of people who have died because of Musk's aid cuts. A few examples:
*Yamah Freeman was a 23-year-old woman who died in childbirth because Musk cut funding for the diesel for ambulances in her part of Liberia. She couldn't get to a hospital and died as people were carrying her there. I talked to her parents and sister in their village.
*Gbessey Kiadu, age 1, died of malaria because of his cuts to malaria medication in Liberia. I talked to his mom in her village.
*Ibrahim Koroma, an infant, died of AIDS in Sierra Leone after he interrupted HIV supplies. I talked to health workers who cared for him.
*Achol Deng was an 8-year-old girl with HIV in South Sudan who died when Musk cut funding for the health care worker who provided her medicines. I talked to the healthcare workers.
I could go on and on. In almost every village you go to in South Sudan, Uganda, Liberia, Sierra Leone or other countries I reported in, you find people dying because of aid cuts. I challenge Musk: Come with me on a reporting trip, and we'll talk to these moms and dads, and you'll see the dying children themselves. I think if you see the kids whose lives are at stake, maybe you'll change your mind.
"The hardest decision we had to make in completing this report was.. not to name the Palestinian children, whose deaths, injuries & suffering we describe.. we didn't name them because we feared the consequences for their families"
He means Israel would go after them too.
