Wonderful praise for everyone involved in rebuilding the Eden District from Premier @helenzille. Build Back Better - united, resilient, sustainable! https://t.co/O51GaiYti6
Magnificent rehabilitation of the mountain slopes after Knysna fires. Alien species kept out by hydrological re-seeding of indigenous plants, through spraying a wood mesh slurry filled with seeds, that holds water, prevents erosion and stimulates new growth.
This is how hydro-seeding works. A slurry with an inert poplar wood base is mixed with liquid and indigenous seed to create a spray-on "net" that prevents erosion, stops alien re-growth, holds in the moisture, and strengthens indigenous growth.
Informal settlement upgrading on the fire-ravaged slopes of Knysna. Stabilising the hillside before building subsidised houses. Thanks Gustaf for managing this complex project
