Tonight we looked back on the hard work that made this season possible and the memories we created together.
From a scorching hot start at Bandcamp to subzero temperatures, we stuck together. Looking forward to enjoying the rest of the concert season!
Last Friday was midnight madness and the last day of July camp! We looked back on memories, laughed cried, hugged, ate some pancakes, and beat each other up with dodgeballs! 2023 band season here we come!
News! Sweat! Sun! Thursday was crazy! It was our first time rehearsing in the football stadium! Lots of sky appreciation! And the news station KSHB 41 came to write an article about us rehearsing in the heat! Go read that it was really cool! Get ready for midnight madness!π₯Ήππ
Tuesday Twin day! There were so many cute twin fits! Also today was our first full ensemble rehearsal with music and it was mind blowing! And the Director of Athletic Bands at the University of Missouri, Amy Knopps, came to visit the band and gave amazing advice about gratitude!
Happy Water day! Earlier today the Blue Springs fire department came to hose down all the sweaty band kids! We were all grateful to get cooled off after being in the sun! We also got a visit by some alumni! Thank you Danik Brown, Anna Grace, and Ian Kelly for coming to visit us!
Yesterday the mayor of Blue Springs, Carson Ross, came to visit the GR! It was such an honor that he took time out of his day to come to us and gave all of us amazing advice! He also took part in the pink pitt photos going around the band! Go follow them on Instagram!
First day completed! Today the student leaders welcomed in the first years with smiles and welcome signs! The first years learned what it means to be in the GR and did such an amazing job today! Can't wait to see you all tomorrow!
Phew! The student leaders have been working hard for the past two days to make everything perfect for the first day of band camp! Assembly lines, cleaning, organizing, painting, clothing, etc! Thank you student leaders for working hard to make our band better!
