#GSA
Meet Isabella Harnett!
Member-at-Large of the @GSA_SAC and an Undergraduate at SUNY Oneonta, NY, where she focuses on volcanology, igneous petrology, and rheology.
Why she loves GSA: Interacting with other students with different backgrounds and origins.
Meet Isaac Pope!
Member-at-Large of the @GSA_SAC and a PhD student at Missouri University of Science and Technology, where he focuses on Volcanology.
Why he loves GSA: Science is fun, but it gets even more fun (and meaningful) with friends!
Meet @Nicyjuly
Member-at-Large of the @GSA_SAC and a PhD Candidate at the @uofmemphis , where she focuses on sedimentology, stratigraphy, and geochemistry.
Why she loves GSA: Connecting with people from different cultures, who share similar interests and passion in geoscience
Meet @SinjiniS
Member-at-Large of the @GSA_SAC and a Postdoctoral Research Associate at West Virginia University, where she focuses on paleontology.
Why she loves GSA: My professional network has grown immensely over the years by being part of the broader GSA community.
Meet Sage Turek!
Member-at-Large of the @GSA_SAC and a PhD Candidate at the University of Texas at Austin, where she focuses on Structural geology, tectonics, and geochronology.
Why she loves GSA: The academic and professional resources.
Meet Riliwan Abioye!
Member-at-Large of the @GSA_SAC and a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of South Carolina, where he focuses on Hydrogeology and Groundwater modeling.
Why he loves GSA: The strong culture of peer-to-peer mentoring and collaboration.
They are actively on the job market for academic positions and new opportunities. They are open to new opportunities to pursue another postdoc in either biogeochemical modeling or an LA-ICP-MS lab to further develop their skill sets in those areas once their current term is over
Meet Ashley Prow-Fleischer!
Member-at-Large of the @GSA_SAC and a Postdoc at Stanford University (Formerly PhD Student, Syracuse University), where they focus on carbonate-based redox chemistry; Earth System Modeling.
Meet Samantha Khatri!
Member-at-Large of the @GSA_SAC and a PhD Candidate at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, where she investigates how terrestrial systems respond to rapid climate change by analyzing lacustrine carbonate archives from continental interior basins.
Meet Noshin Sharmili !
Member-at-Large of the @GSA_SAC and a PhD Student at Pennsylvania State University. Noshin’s research focuses on understanding fluvial and deltaic processes on Earth and other planetary bodies, and their applications in subsurface characterization.
Calling all student & early career hydrogeologists!
Are you looking for a supportive space to showcase your research and connect with the hydrogeology community? The student representatives of the GSA Hydrogeology Division are proud to launch HydroSphere.
Megan is currently in the second year of her masters program and looking for a geomorphology or landslides hazards related position, starting in July or August.
Meet Megan Wilson!
Member-at-Large of the @GSA_SAC and a Master’s student at Western Washington University. Megan’s research uses remote sensing to assess the effects of large wood on in-channel sediment storage following post-fire debris flow events in the Western US.
The Mineralogy, Geochemistry, Petrology, & Volcanology Division of the @geosociety is recruiting a new Student Representative! The position is open to graduate students, and first-year M.S. students and senior undergraduates are especially encouraged to apply.
Meet Piper Hattenbach!
Member-at-Large of the @GSA_SAC and a Master’s student at @Carleton_U. Piper’s research focus on impacts of climate change on the paleoecology and functional morphology of arctic mammals. Why she loves GSA: The opportunity to meet so many fantastic people
