As a result of government recommendations against gatherings of more than 100 people due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the grand opening events for the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts have been postponed. See full statement here: https://t.co/rPdjk0LfCB

CALENDAR UPDATE: Monday, Feb. 17 is the make-up day for most GCS students for the instructional day that was missed due to inclement weather on Friday, Feb. 7. The day was previously identified as a mandated teacher workday: https://t.co/woDSwAukv0

While basketball, barbeque, and business are synonymous with Greensboro for many, there is so much more to the city—including a walkable downtown with museums, galleries, parks, music, theatres, sporting events, and recreational opportunities.

City residents said distracted drivers were their No. 1 traffic safety concern. Read how Vision Zero Greensboro plans to address distracted driving -- and eliminate motor vehicle deaths and serious injuries by 2040 -- at https://t.co/23IutQloiP<https://t.co/23IutQloiP.
If and when the city installs drop off locations for glass recycling, please consider saving your glass recycling and adding that stop to your routine, rather than adding to our landfills. 🙌

GSO recycling program is changing 7/1. @greensborocity is removing the recycling drop-off locations. We will also no longer be able to recycle glass bottles and jars, gabled cartons (such as milk, soup, and juice cartons) in our recycling cans. 😔https://t.co/OXT1n0Pzco
We also will not be able to recycle large plastic items such as buckets and lawn furniture, pots and pans, or shredded paper.
I suggest NOT throwing out plastic bags and instead recycling them at grocery stores or other stores with drop offs (and modified the picture😉). ♻️
