Megastar's #Jaichiranjeeva

Jai Chiranjeeva is one of my favourite Megastar movies.

What I love most is how grounded it feels. Emotion and revenge driving the story, with the right amount of comedy to entertain.

And #Megastar Chiranjeevi.. What an aura. Comedy, drama, action, emotional scenes, he owns every frame he's in. That's the kind of screen presence #Boss has then and even today.

#OnePiece's Quietest Reveal 🗝️

One of my favorite first-watch moments in OnePiece .

Right after CP9 reveals themselves, demanding the bloodied Iceburg the whereabouts of Pluton's blueprint, the anime quietly pans through a window and shows Franky. 🌃

That's enough for us to realize the blueprint is with Franky. And that a bond exists between him and Iceburg. 🔩

#Luffy trusting people

I believe that's how it should be on mutually trusting people.

I offer mine first. Not gonna pretend experience hasn't taught us lessons. Won't change the core belief though. Adapt, get sharp, not cold.

Trust isn't a transaction. It's not about expecting them to do what you want, or owing them what they want back. It's believing in them.

Costs us sometimes. Fine.

If it inspires kids around us, or brings a positive change in anyone watching_the same way OnePiece did to us_that's enough.

That satisfying laugh of Luffy gets me every time though 😀

Timed with RRR's limited re-release in French theatres, July 29. Plus a Cinémathèque française retrospective in Paris, #RRR and both #Baahubali films screened, with a masterclass.

French audiences reportedly went wild over an exclusive glimpse of #Varanasi too. Releasing worldwide April 7, 2027 starring #MaheshBabu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Prithviraj Sukumaran.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day:

Already liked Frank Castle before, so this Peter-Punisher dynamic was always gonna work for me. Big brother little brother energy but neither one admitting it. That's good writing.

And the indoor Peter-MJ conversations. Loved that too.

Some people complaining about these conversations as well. Didn't even watch the trailer going in. Didn't realize Spider Man owes everyone a movie built exactly how they imagined it.

Main thing for me, the whole movie just felt more grounded and last scene made me happy, I laughed. Not spoiling it.

Incendies (2010)

Some films don't give you words, they give you a weight. Incendies is one of them.

A mother's final wish sends her twins into a past she buried and a war she never spoke of.

One of the finest mysteries I've watched.

Le silence d'une mère peut parfois dire plus qu'un cri. Sometimes a mother's silence says more than a scream ever could.

Gaami is one of the best edited Telugu films of 2024. Screenplay is most ambitious too.

Cinematography and score are stunning too, by Vishwanath Reddy Chelumalla and Naresh Kumaran.

Nonlinear, cross cutting between storylines. And no it's not AI, shot for real across the Himalayas, took nearly over 8 years to make since 2016 to its theatrical release in 2024.

Doesn't work for everyone though. Execution divides people. But director Vidyadhar Kagita attempting this and mostly pulling it off deserves real credit.

Real question:

Why are we seeing more ₹20K-₹25K phones and even a few ₹30K+ models being sold with older chipset platforms?. Many of these smartphones were launched at reasonable prices. This is after price increase.

I know DRAM/NAND prices have risen, component costs are up, supply constraints are real, and proven chipsets help reduce development costs. No denying that.

But does that fully explain today's pricing?

I get paying more for better cameras, build quality, displays, IP ratings, and longer software support. But the chipset is still the heart of the phone.

So is it worth paying a premium when the silicon is based on the same platform found in much cheaper devices?

Of course, there are exceptions. Some brands still offer value. But the trend makes me curious.

For enthusiasts, comparing specs is easy. But what about the average buyer who walks into a retail store, trusts the salesperson, and assumes a higher price means a significantly better phone?

Am I missing something, or has the value equation for mid-range phones quietly changed?

It reminds me of the #Nokia 8 Sirocco even though that phone wasn't a foldable it had a similarly distinctive design language.

Few things I learned that made me appreciate Hugo even more

1. It's one of Martin Scorsese's most personal films. It is a heartfelt love letter to cinema, inspired in part by his desire to share film history with his children.

2. Georges Méliès wasn't just a character. He was a real filmmaking pioneer who created hundreds of films, including A Trip to the Moon. After being forgotten by the industry, he spent years running a toy shop in a Paris train station while many of his films were lost to time.

3. That breathtaking opening shot is a seamless blend of practical sets, miniatures, motion control, and visual effects. It remains one of my favorite opening sequences ever.

4. Hugo features one of the finest uses of 3D in cinema. Scorsese uses it as a storytelling tool, not a gimmick adding depth and atmosphere that make the train station, the intricate clocks, and the magic of early cinema feel truly immersive. It's one of the few films where 3D genuinely enhances the experience.

5. Most of the station was built as massive practical sets and then digitally extended, which is why 1930s Paris feels so authentic.

6. The clocks aren't just beautiful visuals they symbolize time, memory, and preserving history, much like cinema itself.

7. Despite being overlooked today, Hugo won five Academy Awards, including Cinematography, Production design, Visual Effects, Sound Mixing, and Sound Editing.
