A lovely 1902 edition of Thomas a Kempis's The Imitation of Christ, a classic in Christian mysticism. Oxford, leather-bound, with gold foiling underlaid with red.
The Kuykendall Bible Collection has many idiosynchrasies, including this Bible that changes all the plural pronouns from "you" to "y'all." Wishing all our students a blessed summer break: y'all come back now, ya hear!
Congratulations to all our 2026 graduates! The library staff was priveleged to walk with faculty in commencement and see off the many students whom we helped along the way.
It's the final week of the semester! A reminder that the library is here to help with any and all paper and research needs. Next week, beginning on Monday the 18th, our hours will revert to 9-5, Mon-Fri.
A particularly famous (or INfamous) Bible in the Kuykendall Collection is this facsimile of the Jefferson Bible. A deist, Thomas Jefferson is well known for his liberal excision of various passages of Scripture he found anti-rational.
We in the library are excited to learn about the blessings of new growth, and looks forward to assisting any and all new students with their deepening research into the things of God.
At the trustee meeting, Gateway was able to share news of exciting growth.
“This year marks our highest enrollment across our 82-year history,” Adam Groza said.
We are so thankful for our trustees who support Gateway's vision to shape leaders.

Dr. Torseth's Fringe Theology class is the topic of much intrigue in itself. Student services devoted an entire morning to discussing and even diagramming the mechanics of this strange and unusual class, as pictured here. Registration still available through May.

Just a reminder that the library's hours will be 9-5 for this week only (Spring break). We will return to normal hours of operation next week (March 23rd).
This edition of Thomas Chalmers's Astronomical Discourses was published by the American Tract Society (1845). Chalmers was the Chair of Theology at the University of Edinburgh, and these discourses contain a theological and worldview of astronomy. From Dr. Torseth's collection.
In a world of increasing claims of supernatural
encounters, Special Studies in Theology: Fringe

meets the relevant unchanging truth of the Bible.

New items from the Kuykendall Collection have been cycled out onto display, including this Geneva Breeches Bible, so named due to its use of the word ‘breeches’ in Genesis 3:7. It also contains a fascinated early map of the antediluvian world. Drop by and see it in person!
