I got a call from a sister
She said her best friend is crying her eyes out due to a heartbreak
She begged me to step in and intercede in the matter
I asked her what happened
She said her best friend saw the picture of her boyfriend getting engaged to another lady and fainted.
She said her best friend had been inconsolable from that moment and had refused to eat or leave her room for over two weeks
She said she had to bring the matter to me so that I can help in whatever way I deem possible before things get out of hand
I asked her for the phone number of her best friend and called her
She explained that the man who broke her heart was not her boyfriend but her bestie
The three of them met in Ireland when studying for their masters
They were the only Nigerians in the class and they formed a strong and unique bond
At the end of their studies, one of them decided to stay back in Ireland to pursue a career as a medical doctor
She and this bestie returned to Nigeria to pursue their careers in Banking
She said this man grew closer to her than even her best friend
They have keys to each other's apartments and sleep over in each other's houses every other day
She said she was never sexually attracted to him, and he was never sexually attracted to her
They sometimes sleep on the same bed and share deep intimate moments (not sexual), which included deep conversations, sharing of dreams and aspirations, career talk, execution of assignments, studying together, developing ideas together, executing work projects together, networking, and reaching developmental milestones together in their career
He had relationships during this time, but most of them didn't work out because she was in the picture, and he was not willing to let her go
She also had relationships with other men, but the relationships did not work out because he was in the picture, and she was unwilling to let him go
Their relationship deepened throughout their thirties, and neither of them got married or had a relationship that lasted more than a few months.
As they were both moving towards the age of forty, they decided that they would return to England together to start another chapter of their lives
They put their plan in motion, and it clicked. They both got good jobs in Scotland and decided to resign on the same day.
Unfortunately, his father died before the date they had planned to resign, and his plan to travel to England got disrupted
He was the first son of the family, and his father willed his estate to him and his siblings
Duty demanded that he remain in Nigeria.
He drove her to the airport, where they hugged for a long time
They had never been apart for ten years
He had joined her in every new interest she picked up, and she had done the same with him
He encouraged her to pursue her dreams and own this new chapter
She dropped the keys to her apartment with him and reminded him of the arrangements she had made for the place to be tidied up every Saturday
She left for Scotland.
He returned home
They spoke on the phone daily for at least an hour every day
She had to leave Scotland for Ireland when the job thing didn't work out
Her best friend had become established in Ireland as a medical doctor
She didn't think it would be wise to stay in Scotland without a job while racking up bills
In Ireland, she could live with her friend while she sorts herself out
He, on the other hand, came under immense pressure from his family to get married and have children
The first relationship he had after she travelled strangely moved from something they both would joke about on the phone to something that made him forget to call her or return her calls for weeks
The next thing she saw on his status was his engagement announcement
It broke her heart.
PS: I was taken aback by the story
Was it that she didn't want to marry him, but she also didn't want him to get married to someone else?
Or she is in love with him, but it was not a sexual kind of love?
Or she wanted both of them to remain unmarried as a sign of faithfulness to each other
Or she wanted him to marry but remain in her space as her bestie regardless of the feelings of his wife?
Or she loved him, and he loved her, but the love was not the kind that leads to marriage?
If anyone can explain or define the kind of relationship she got a heartbreak over, I ask the person to please help me make sense of it.

Prophesy To The Wind
âŠProphesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live (Ezekiel 37:1-5)
Are you aware that you can change hopeless situations and effect positive changes in your life through the creative power of Godâs Word in your mouth? You can change anything through the gift of prophecy.
To prophesy means to speak words of divine revelation and potency: words that have, and give life.
In our opening scripture, Ezekiel found himself in a valley full of dry bones, and the Lord asked him, âCan these bones live?â Ezekielâs response was, âLord, you alone can tellâ; it was a hopeless situation. Nevertheless, God said to Ezekiel, âProphesy to these bonesâ; He needed Ezekielâs cooperation.
Now, hereâs the interesting thing: the first thing God said would happen to the bones following Ezekielâs prophecy was that He would cause breath to enter into them. But read what happened: âSo I prophesied as I was commanded: andâŠwhen I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: BUT THERE WAS NO BREATH IN THEMâ (Ezekiel 37:7-8)
Ezekiel prophesied as he was commanded, but the very first thing God said would happen to the bones didnât happen; there was no breath in them. He brought this to Godâs attention and God said to him, ââŠProphesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of manâŠâ (Ezekiel 37:9)
Notice the difference this time: he was to prophesy to the wind, not the bones now. When he did, the Bible says, ââŠbreath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great armyâ (Ezekiel 37:10). This is as profound as it is instructive.
Sometimes, a word of prophecy comes to us, and weâre waiting for it to be fulfilled, and it doesnât; so we think the prophecy was false. But we never asked the Lord what next to do as Ezekiel did. Ask the Holy Spirit the next step to take; the specific words to speak now. Heâs our Instructor; He leads and guides us. Heâll show you what to do, and tell you what to say. Maybe you need to âProphesy to the windâ too. Hallelujah!
And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified (Acts 20:32).
John 1:1 says, âIn the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.â If the Word was God, and God doesnât change, it means that the Word is still God. In verse 14 of the same chapter, the Bible says, âThe Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truthâ (John 1:14 NIV).
Recall that before Jesus was born, the Holy Ghost had come upon the Virgin Mary, and the Word she received from God, which was spoken to her by an angel, became flesh in her. That Word became a child, and grew to become the man, Christ Jesus. So Jesus, indeed, is the Word of God become flesh; Heâs the result of the Word that was spoken to Mary.
Today, when the Word of God comes to you, it still has the same effect and produces the same result. Godâs intent is for the Word to become one with you, to become flesh in you. If itâs a word of healing, itâs meant to destroy the sickness, and take its place.
The Word can recreate a broken or amputated arm. The Word can change your genotype. The Word can become new kidneys in you, and literally give you a new heart, if youâve had issues with your kidneys or your heart. Receiving Godâs Word is receiving the power of God into your life; the creative power of God.
Donât accept that your situation is hopeless. Donât despair or become despondent because of your financial situation; change things with the Word. Get into meditation; chew the Word; ponder and contemplate the Word until it literally forms in you the message it bears. Youâll know when it happens: your mind will be renewed to only see, think, and accept the results that the Word is supposed to produce for you and in you
Through prophecy you create your ion, and the ion will definitely affect the cosmos of your life. If in your ion you didn't have this and that, it'll not happen in your cosmos and your life will be empty.
God loves to show us visions when we pray. If youâre going to have extraordinary results in life, itâs important that you learn to catch the visions that the Spirit of God brings to you. When I pray, I see; I relate with divine visions; Iâm lifted above this world; I receive ideas from God and get directions for life.
Some people donât see visions when they pray. To be visionless is to be stagnated. But one sound idea from God can transform your life forever. This happens as you shut out the world and fellowship with the Holy Spirit in prayer. Then He shows you the future and helps you know the next vital step to take, and how to take it.
As you give yourself to the Word of God and yield to the leading of the Holy Spirit in prayer, Heâd show you things to come, such that you donât walk in darkness. Jesus said in John 16:13, âHowbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.â
Being born again and filled with the Holy Spirit, you can know something of your future. You should never find yourself in a situation where you donât know what to do next in your life. In John 8:12, the Master said, ââŠI am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.â Knowing this, you donât have to worry about tomorrow; you can take His light and set it into your future, and your path will be illuminated to know and walk in His perfect will for you. Hallelujah!
Manifesting Knoowledge
Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord⊠(Hosea 6:3).
Consider the Lordâs loving admonition and invitation in Isaiah 1:19 TLB: âIf you will only let me help you, if you will only obey, then I will make you rich!â
Many donât know this, and as a result, havenât consciously given the Lord the chance to help them; no wonder they live in defeat, poverty, sickness, and penury.
Let this loving admonition and invitation of the Father resonate in your heart today. The King James Version says, âIf ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.â We already fulfilled the act of obedience when we made Jesus Lord of our lives. No wonder He calls us obedient children (1 Peter 1:14). Now, youâre to live in Godâs Word; not to obey, but to do the Word. If you do the Word, youâll eat the good of the land.
The Bible says the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord (Psalm 33:5). Therefore, affirm that the lines are fallen unto you in pleasant places; you have a goodly heritage (Psalms 16:6). Believe, declare, and act on the Word.
God said, âMy people are destroyed for the lack of knowledgeâŠâ (Hosea 4:6). Notice that He didnât say, âSinners are destroyed for lack of knowledgeâ; rather, He said, âMy peopleâŠ,â which means Christians.
Godâs own people are crushed, oppressed, made victims in life not because they lack the knowledge of economics, government, physics or theology; no! Itâs because they lack revelation knowledge or spiritual knowledge of Godâs Word.
When revelation knowledge comes into your spirit, it enlightens you and catapults you to a higher realm of life. Go for the Word.
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:7-8)
In these last days, itâs inspiring to see Godâs children knowing more about the gifts of the Spirit than ever before. But one area where theyâve constantly made a mistake is in their interpretation of a gift mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12 as the word of knowledge. Incidentally, thatâs the only place throughout the Scriptures where it is referred to as the word of knowledge. Every other time, the gift was referenced. It was called knowledge, not word of knowledge.
What many wrongly call the gift of the word of knowledge is, in fact, the manifestation of the gift of prophecy. Youâre not manifesting *âknowledgeâ* when you supernaturally know or speak something about somebody or events in his life; thatâs prophecy because prophecy reveals the secrets of men.
The Bible says through prophecy, the secrets of a manâs heart are revealed (1 Corinthians 14:24-25). The gift of knowledge refers to the manifestation of spiritual knowledge of divine things, which includes the cosmos.
The word *âknowledgeâ* is from the Greek, *"Gnosis,"* which means scientific knowledgeâ knowledge thatâs based on intellectual activity. This knowledge can be supernaturally imparted to you by the Spirit of God through this gift.
Think about it: God made the plants and the animals; He made the metals and everything there is in the world. He can teach you about them. He can give you supernatural knowledge in artificial intelligence, robotics, law, or medicine. The world is looking for solutions, and weâre the ones to provide them.
Christ, the embodiment of all wisdom and knowledge, lives in you. The Holy Spirit, the Spirit of wisdom and knowledge, lives in you; He teaches you all things and can supernaturally impart knowledge about anything to your spirit. Become more conscious of the ministry of the Spirit in your life. Be mindful of His power, presence, and His ability to impart solutions to your spirit thatâll change the world.
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him (Ephesians 1:17).
There are several verses of scripture in the Old and New Testaments that underscore the importance of knowledge: revelation, knowledge. For example, Proverbs 11:9 says, ââŠthrough knowledge shall the just be delivered.â 2 Peter 1:2-3 says, âGrace and peace be multiplied unto you THROUGH THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, THROUGH THE KNOWLEDGE OF HIM that hath called us to glory and virtue.â
Revelation knowledge of Godâs Word is required for the victorious Christian life. Itâs not enough to know the Word; you must have it revealed to your spirit by the Holy Spirit. The Word must move from information to illumination. Thatâs what propels you into a higher realm of victory and dominion. The Apostle Paul prayed that the Church in Ephesus would be granted âthe spirit of wisdom and revelation.â Because until your spirit is illumined by the Holy Spirit to âseeâ what God has made available to you, you canât walk in the reality of it.
What you donât know, you canât claim. What you havenât seen with the eyes of your spirit, you canât enjoy. The full blessings of the Gospel are yours now, but they must become real to you through revelation. Only then can they manifest in your life. You must personalize the Scriptures. Donât read the Word like a history book. Read it as a living document written about you.
The Word of God is Godâs mirror that reveals your real identity, personality, authority, and glory in Christ Jesus. The Epistles are the album of the new creation. Study them and ask the Holy Spirit for insight and illumination, and to unveil the realities therein to your heart. When that happens, they become part of your consciousness.
Faith works by revelation. When your spirit takes hold of Godâs truth, you speak it with boldness and act with confidence. The results would be testimonies, victories, unending joy, peace, and prosperity. Therefore, donât live by head knowledge. Live by revelation knowledge. This knowledge comes from meditating on the Word and spending time in fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Every so often, declare that youâre filled with the knowledge of Godâs will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Hallelujah!
Insist On A Prenup
He said: Brother Gbenga, Let me tell you a story of how a Prenup preserves your life from an early grave and also protects your resources from emotional vultures fleecing you off your feelings for them.
I lodged in a hotel in 2019 somewhere in Lagos. It was a good hotel and the price was fair.
The room service attendants of the hotel, however, were very unprofessional in their conduct
They padded the bill, solicited for tips, and would beg you for money brazenly. If you refuse to tip them or give them any money based on principle, they will start giving you attitude.
If you call room service, nobody will show up. If you walk into their restaurant to make an order, you will wait a long time before you are served, and if you go to their bar for a drink, you will be the last person to be attended to.
They had a terrible and unprofessional service culture.
I decided to take it up with their management. I am a business owner too, and I could see the amount of money the owner of the hotel was pouring into it to keep its doors open. The attitude of his staff, however, would eventually force the business to close down.
I requested to see the manager in my second week at the hotel.
By this time i had documented all the evidence of the atrocities of his staff
I had also googled him to know as much as possible about him and his business
We met on a thursday and I told him all my observations with recorded audio and video evidence
I also gave him bills that didn't match the receipts given to me by those who had attended to me.
He told me he would do something about it immediately.
The next day, he sacked all the staff members involved and employed new ones.
He then instructed one of the new ones, a lady named
Jasmine is to wait on me and ensure that all my needs are met. (Nothing sexual or unprofessional, please. I know you will post on X, and that street takes things off point very easily. So I am clarifying that.)
Jasmine was like my PA while I was in Lagos for the business I came in to do, which was to scout ten teen footballers and if possible, sign them up on a contract for my football club which was in one of the Middle Eastern countries
Jasmine knew Lagos, and she was of great help in my interactions with the locals.
This was how we got talking, and she told me about her relationship with a young man named Wisdom, who was working with one of the pharmaceutical companies and their struggles to raise enough money to get married.
In all, I spent three months in Nigeria, and she worked with me for about ten weeks. I made sure she was compensated properly in foreign currency before returning to my base.
When I got to my base, I got an email from her
In the mail, she pushed for me to please help her man get a job abroad
I ignored it
I didn't want the relationship to go beyond a professional one
Two years after this, she called me out of the blue and told me she had obtained a master's degree form with UNILAG and would like me to support her with the school fees.
I didn't think twice before sending her triple the amount she requested.
She also asked if I could get her a job
She said her job at the hotel had turned toxic due to the behaviour of her new supervisor
She said she wanted to resign, and she did.
We started talking on and off.
Nothing romantic, but the discussion was stepping out of neutrality and professionalism into personal issues.
She spoke to me a lot about Wisdom, the man she was dating, and how he was always mounting pressure on her to make her own money so that they could build a life together.
Wisdom was advancing in his career, and he was given an official car and an accommodation at work
He, however, refused to marry Jasmine as long as she was not gainfully employed
Jasmine took this as a sign of a lack of love from wisdom. She broke off the relationship and focused on her studies.
When she was done with her master's, she got a job in one of the states in the Southeast.
She kept in touch
When she got to this new job in the Southeast, she started dating the manager of the company.
He was rich after a fashion within the Nigerian socioeconomic space.
He lived in a duplex, had three cars, and had some money he could spend for free
He was generous, and he paid attention to her needs
She spent most of her time in his duplex, securing her space as his wife to be
This went on for about a year until the man's wife and children arrived in Nigeria from the United States of America.
It was an unexpected twist in her story.
She had to move out of his apartment in a hurry. A lot of the staff members in their office knew about her relationship with the boss, and the news soon filtered to the boss's wife
The woman insisted she must be sacked, and the man had no option but to sack her.
She also had to change her church because the man and his family attended the same church, and she lived in constant fear of running into the woman.
So she left Enugu and returned to Lagos.
When she got to Lagos, she joined a church, became very born again in her conduct, and got a job as an executive assistant to the pastor of the church she was attending.
By this time, I had known her for about five years. She would call, text, or send me an email once in a while. sometimes when I have something to do in Nigeria, I would reach out to her, and she would get it done for me for a fee.
I got a better contract as a scout with another football club in Germany.
I needed to return to West Africa to scout out some talent in seven countries, including Nigeria.
I called Jasmine to share the good news. She asked if I wouldn't mind a video call, and I obliged.
We talked for a bit, and she asked me to take her on a tour of my hotel suite.
I obliged her
She used to be in the hotel business, and I know many hoteliers like seeing the standard of other hotels so that they could aspire for better in their line of work.
I arrived in Nigeria in June,
Jasmine was at the airport to welcome me.
Her attitude towards me was very warm, and she came with an overnight travel bag
When I told her I wanted to stay in the hotel where she used to work, she begged me not to
She said if I did so, she would not be able to stay with me
It was her queen's gambit, and I allowed her to play that hand
That was how we became lovers. She was thirty-two years old. her career had not taken off as she wanted, and her love life had crashed into oblivion
She said she was staying with her older sister's family in Lekki, Lagos, and her older sister had almost turned her into a housemaid
She said staying with me would give her some respite and restore a bit of dignity to her before her sister and her sister's husband
She was a good friend, a fantastic listener. She has a good brain in her head, and her counsel is always well considered. She also has this sixth sense about people and could easily tell you when people are being shady or forthright.
Being from Nigeria, her wealth of knowledge in this way helped me a lot with my business.
We grew very close. We toured West Africa together. We fell in love, and I proposed to marry her.
Now I came from money. My family had owned wineries and vineyards for several generations.
I have also done very well for myself in my career as a FIFA and UEFA-licensed football scout
It was only ideal that we sign a prenup
When I told her about the prenup, she said I was not in any way different from Wisdom (her former boyfriend).
I asked her why she would say so, and she said I was prioritizing money over my love for her and making her look like a gold digger.
She said she wouldn't sign a prenup
It has to be either all or nothing
I really loved Jasmine, so i told her I would travel home to have a discussion with my parents on the prenup issue
I told her she couldn't travel with me because my father would accuse me of being under her influence.
I also told her that my parents and I would most likely place a call to her during the discussion, and my father would most likely ask her some questions
I encouraged her to be candid and forthright with my father, as this could help him change his mind about the prenup
On the day we made the call, Jasmine was back with his sister at Lekki
After we had exchanged pleasantries, I introduced her to my parents
My father greeted her warmly, and so did my mother
My father then told her to take us on a tour of her sister's house and introduce us to the family on a video call
She left her room and took us from one room to another
We met her sister, the sister's husband was not at home
We also met with all the little children in the house
It was a meeting of great fun and laughter
However, throughout the call, Jasmine and her sister were conversing in their native language and English language
The call went on for almost three hours. It's all pleasant. My father asked no awkward questions. It was just talking about family history, level of education, exposure, my job, her plans, how many children she wanted to have, my father's businesses, and family tree, etc
When we were done, my father asked for the video recording of the call and sent it to a friend of his from Nigeria to help transcribe the conversation between Jasmine and her sister.
The transcription was done, and the result was very revealing.
Jasmine's sister asked her when she took the video call to her room, "If this was the rich fool who wanted to employ a wife instead of marrying one the proper way."
Jasmine replied, "Onye Iberibe amaghi n'ada nne ya bu obia," or something like that, which means "This fool does not know that he is playing with someone with a superior plan. Or This is an amateur playing against a master."
That was all my father had to see.
He insisted on a prenup.
Jasmine threw a tantrum, called me names, and accused me of being a user who really didn't love her but only wanted to turn her into a baby factory. She said my father wanted an heir for his empire, but wanted a slave to carry the heir.
We parted ways after all that drama.
I got married a year later to a 27-year-old Italian princess. We have three children, and we are happy. She signed the prenup eagerly as I would have done if she were the one with the assets to protect
It was never about fidelity or unfaithfulness. it was about judging intentions. How would a man or woman know if he or she is being loved for his or her money other than for himself or herself?
You take the money off the table.
If he or she is still consistent without the money on the table, you know you have hit the jackpot.
Thank you for bearing with the long read, sir.
PS: There are several reasons to sign a prenup, especially as a man or woman of means.
If your children are born into money (trust fund babies), you must protect them by insisting they sign a prenup, too.
There are too many vultures out there hoping to trade good looks and a bad character for years of sweat and hard work.
Protect your assets from these buccaneers!
-GSW-
There is a golden rule for women who intend to get married and be successful in their marriages: NEVER TAKE MARITAL COUNSEL FROM ANOTHER WOMAN.
Not your mother, not your sister, not your aunt, not your female friends, not your pastor's wife, not your school mother, not a female podcaster, or Mother Theresa.
Men are best positioned to counsel women on marriages. Listen to your Father, your Older Brother, your Uncle, your male Pastor.
Men are the customers in a marriage, and the customer is always right.
Women are by nature designed to say one thing when they mean another.
Remember the expression, "A woman has the right to change her mind".
It means a woman can be a feminist today and go about propagating feminist views because of her current situation and condition, only for her to meet Mr. RIGHT tomorrow and begin to preach submission, true love, and marital bliss, also because of her condition.
A woman can preach celibacy and sexual purity on the altar and even go on to write books about it while she is sleeping with whoever asks on a whim.
This is not an indictment of the female gender; it is an understanding of the conditioning and evolution of the female species in adapting to life and happiness.
I have seen several ladies transition from "I hate men to I love men" within a minute.
I sat with a lady once at a restaurant, she started telling me how she is comfortable with her life as it was, and how she has decided that she does not want to get married or have a relationship because she has prioritized her freedom and wouldn't want any man to take it from her in the name of marriage
Then I said to her, "I asked you here because I plan to marry you, but hearing your views on marriage and men now, I think I will keep my ring and find a woman who is more comfortable with being a wife."
She stared at me and said, "Really? Are you pulling my legs? Show me the ring."
So, I showed her the ring.
Then she goes, "I didn't really mean all that. I have been alone for so long, and those are the things I say to myself to cope with my situation. I don't want to die of depression, and nothing kills a woman like waking up every day and waiting for a man who never arrives in the name of getting married and having a relationship. I love you, and I really don't hate men in that sense. I love marriage, and I want to be married. I know I will make a very good wife to any man who comes asking for my hand in marriage."
That is the truth.
In a world where so many women are turning to dildos and their fingers in order to get a bit of sexual release, coping with the scarcity of men requires that you tell yourself things like "I don't need men", "I am fine without men", "What is man to me?" "Men are evil", "Men are scum, "Men are bad", "Men are the devil," and so on.
It is the same principles that make a poor man say "Money is evil", "Money is bad". "Money is demonic", "Money corrupts". He is saying it, but he is looking for how to make money and become financially stable.
When he becomes financially stable, he stops saying things like that and begins to preach "financial prosperity", "Secure the bag", "Money is freedom", "Money is power".
In both examples, the initial position is a coping mechanism. A way to deal with the harsh realities of life due to the prevailing circumstances, the woman and the poor man are dealing with at the time.
I counsel young ladies to keep away from WhatsApp groups where there are ladies like them who refer to themselves as friends.
These folks are competing with you. You are all single, of marriageable age, and you sit in a WhatsApp group bashing men, discussing each other's relationships, dreams, and aspirations.
It is the case of crabs in a bucket; one will not allow the other to escape
You are all selling the same product.
It is true that there are many customers, but until you secure your own man, every eligible man out there is a potential husband to every woman in that group.
You don't listen to your competitors in a capitalist economy, you listen to your customers. Customer is KING!
I know a lot of single ladies who strut about as single and proud in church, but are side chicks in secret. I didn't say I know one or two or three. I know several!
If you give them the microphone to speak to young women, they will say all the right things that the church has programmed them to say, but when they are not in church, they do the things they believe they have to do to cope with life
Some years ago, when I was younger, I used to call it out and judge and get irritated by such 'women". As I matured, however, I realised that for many people in this world, where they are and where they are going or aiming to be are two different realities.
There is a place called "In transit."
They are on their way to a destination, but they are not at the destination yet. While they are still on the journey, they define where they are in their evolution and reality, and they talk about it because that is their current situation.
A single man says, "I am better off alone. I don't need a woman in my life. Women are a liability. Women are a bag of trouble. Who needs a wife? And then he will go on and share examples of all the promiscuous women and the rate of divorce and all the wickedness women have done to men, which he could recount."
The following month, he gets a job, and the month after that, he comes to you to introduce his pregnant girlfriend. He says he wants to get married and begins to talk about the woman being the best thing that has happened to his destiny.
His opinion when he was in transit becomes a stark contrast to his opinion when he arrives at his destination.
This is the way of life for most people.
The advantage men have when it comes to marriage is the same advantage a customer has when it comes to purchasing a product.
Since the man is the one doing the finding, he has the advantage of choice. He knows what other men like. He knows what other men fear. He knows what he admires in the women he sees with other men. He knows what would sell a woman to a man. He also has the advantage of word of mouth and the male relationship bond; he can easily recommend a lady to another man, and the man would take his word for it that the woman is good for him.
The person to listen to and to take counsel from as a woman who wants to get married and stay happily married is a man.
A man knows the kind of woman he wants even when he has nothing to his name. A woman may claim she knows the kind of man she wants, but she can only pick from the kind of men that come calling on her.
She can want Michael Jordan and find herself attracting the likes of Kevin Hart, Aki, Pawpaw, and Portable. They most likely won't come to her all at once. If they came at once, she could size them up and pick the best according to her preference, but if they came one after the other with six-month or one-year intervals in between their calling on her.
She most likely would dismiss Kevin Hart because he is too short compared to Michael Jordan, and then dismiss Aki for the same reason. By the time Pawpaw comes, she will begin to get the message that this is most likely the kind of men her personality is attracting, and give him a listening ear.
This is where the term "Don't be picky" comes in. This term does not apply to men because they are the king of choice. It applies to women because they get to pick from the options that are made available to them.
Life is in phases.
I was once an atheist, then I became an agnostic, then I became a nominal Christian, then I became a born-again Christian
The same way a lady can start out as a lover girl, then become an angry girl after one or two heartbreaks, then become a bitter girl after another heartbreak, then become a feminist or a misandrist, but then she could meet a man who loves her right and fall in love and get married and have children.
It is life.
All her experiences on her journey to her final destination are valid. The things she said when she was angry at men, bitter at men, hated men, and then found love and got married were all part of her evolution.
The problem, however, is that while many ladies are on the journey, they will set up microphones and start dishing out advice to other ladies.
Someone will start preaching celibacy, and then she will get pregnant. Another person will be preaching sexual purity while she is a side chick. Someone will be preaching abstinence and then get sick from committing abortion.
Don't put yourself under undue pressure to be an example to others while your life is yet unfolding. Don't preach about your journey and try to justify where you are or define your coping mechanism as your destination.
Just live.
Life is an adventure; we are all unfolding new chapters every day.
Those who once preached against divorce learnt bitterly after their own divorce that life is not a journey that can be predicted halfway.
Many who once preached against remarriage after divorce, got divorced, and are now remarrying or are already remarried
Many who once preached sin and judgment have evolved and now preach Christ and eternal life
Misandrists are getting married and fiercely defending and protecting their husbands and families.
In all these, the constant and logical pillars of truth on marriage are men.
If, as a woman, you want to get married and stay married, listen to men.

Covet The Gift Of Prophecy
Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues (1 Corinthians 14:39). In Acts 2:17 Peter quoted the words of the prophet Joel: âAnd it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy ....â This was fulfilled on the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit came. In Acts 1:8, Jesus said you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. One of the ways to put that power to work is through the gift of prophecy.
The gift of prophecy is a door to the supernatural; itâs a way to bring the supernatural power of God into your life, finances, job, or congregation if youâre a minister of the Gospel. Therefore, you must learn to prophesy! If you speak in tongues long enough, the anointing will come on you to prophesy; the Word of God will bubble up within you. And when that anointing comes on you, with the Word boiling inside you, give it vent; let it out. Thatâs prophecy.
To prophesy is to speak words that have divine potency; words that have life; so, donât despise prophecy. Prophecy is like a guiding light. It was through prophecy that the people knew about the coming of Jesus. There were so many prophecies that the Saviourâthe Messiahâwould come. The only proof that God had for the people to recognize and say, âThis is the messiah,â was His Word spoken by the prophets about Christâthe Messiah.
Prophecy is vital. Have there been prophecies about your life? Paul said to Timothy, âThis charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfareâ (1 Timothy 1:18). Make war with those prophecies. Take every word of prophecy concerning your life seriously. Write them down, so you donât forget, and chart your course with the creative power of Godâs Word in your mouth.
As Christians, weâre not ordinary people; weâre never to be victims in life. If youâve found yourself in a predicament, a precarious or desperate situation, be comforted; you have what it takes to win, irrespective of the adversity. Thereâs something in you: the life and dynamic power of the Spirit to effect changes.
That word âpowerâ in our opening verse is actually âdunamisâ (Greek), and it means dynamic power or ability to cause or effect a change. It refers to miracle- working ability; power and ability thatâs beyond yourself! Itâs a âdoing-power,â and itâs sometimes translated âmight.â It also means the power of excellence; the extraordinary ability to be efficient and effective in all that you do. This is the life we have in Christâa life of super-productivity and ever-increasing glory by the Holy Ghost!
No wonder He says in 2 Corinthians 3:5, âNot that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God.â Your ability to do anything; the reason you can be successful at anything; your power for excellence and innovativeness is the Holy Ghost in you. 2 Corinthians 4:7 says, ââŠwe have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.â
Therefore, if youâre struggling in your life; if it seems youâre putting in so much effort and recording incommensurate success, the chances are that youâre neither conscious nor taking advantage of the power of the Spirit within you. Paul said, âI can do all things through the ability of Christ in meâ; the prophet Micah affirmed, ââŠtruly I am full of power by the spirit of the LordâŠâ (Micah 3:8).
Become conscious, and take advantage of the power of the Spirit within you. Through that power, you can do the unthinkable, the unimaginable, and the impossible: âNow unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in usâ (Ephesians 3:20). This is Christianity; itâs a life of dominion. You donât need to go from place to place looking for help and seeking power; all the power you need is in you through the Holy Ghost. Put it to work.
..And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy⊠(ACTS 2:17)
Did you notice that the first response or result of having the Spirit poured out upon all flesh is that men and women would prophesy? It shows the importance of prophecy in prayer. Until you find yourself prophesying in prayer, you havenât utilized the power and benefits of prayer.
Prophecy is two-fold: we speak forth and we foretell. The key is being filled with the Spirit. The Bible says in Ephesians 5:18, âAnd be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit.â The underlined expression connotes something thatâs supposed to continue. The proper rendering is actually, âBe being filled with the Spirit.â
That means you should always be filled with the Spirit. If youâre that way, your prayer life will be enriched with prophecy where you speak forth God's Word and you foretell the future. Donât leave your future in the hands of others; create your âaionââcourse of lifeâwith prophecy.
As an individual, how your life goes depends a lot on you. Likewise, as the Church of Jesus Christ, we must also recognize that we have a responsibility to determine what happens in our communities. Thatâs why our prayers must be laden with prophecies. Whenever we come together to pray, we must know weâre coming together to determine the future of our cities, our nations, and our world through our prophetic utterances. Hallelujah!

Faith To Prophesy
I have tried my best to make sure that I am filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues and also to prophesy, but I struggle to do so. What can I do?
Now, remember, Jesus said ââŠif you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Heavenly father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?â [Matthew 7:11].
Now, one of the problems that we have observed around the world with a lot of people is that even after that they have asked for the Holy Spirit [some even have fasted and prayed for the Holy Spirit], they still, somehow, Â donât believe they have received the Holy Spirit because they are listening for something. You know, maybe, thinking that a voice would just speak through them to speak in other tongues, particularly.
Theyâre thinking a voice will just force their mouth open. They think âIf Iâve received the Holy Spirit, then the Holy Spirit should speak through me and speak in tonguesâ. No! When we speak in other tongues, itâs not the Holy Spirit thatâs speaking in tongues; itâs our spirit thatâs speaking in other tongues. Itâs our spirit â thatâs what the Bible says. So, it says âIf I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitfulâ [1 Corinthians 14:14-15].
It is my spirit that is praying, and my understanding is unfruitful. So, [continues quoting 1 Corinthians 14:14-15] âWhat is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also. Iâll sing with the Spirit, and Iâll sing with the understanding also.â So, itâs our spirit that prays in other tongues, not the Holy Spirit himself. But the Holy Spirit gives us the ability. He gives us the language. So when you receive the Holy Spirit, He puts that language in your spirit;
He puts the ability within you. So donât wait for a voice â act by faith! Itâs like walking on water. You remember Jesus walked on water, and Peter said âMaster, if you are the one, ask me to come to you on the waterâ and Jesus said âComeâ [Matthew 14:26-29]. And Peter stepped out of the boat and walked on the water to go to Jesus. So thatâs what you do â you step out in faith, like the Bible says, âOpen your mouth, and I will fill itâ [Psalm 81:10].
So you have to trust that when you asked God for the Holy Spirit, He gave you the Holy Spirit; you donât need to ask twice. If you ask once, God hears you. Heâs more willing to give you the Holy Spirit than you are willing to receive the Holy Spirit. Trust that, and so believe that, and act accordingly. And begin to say: âI have the Holy Spirit!â
Now, for example, did you know itâs the same faith that we exercise in salvation that we need to exercise in receiving the Holy Spirit? If I asked you now, âHave you received salvation?â Youâd say âyesâ. If I asked you, âHave you received Christ into your heart?â Youâd say âyesâ. Then, how do you know? Youâd say âBecause I asked, and according to the Word of God, I believed, and I received.â Thatâs the same thing youâre supposed to do about the Holy Spirit. See? And then He will confirm that faith by granting you his divine presence. Donât wait till you feel something physical â you donât need to feel anything physical. Itâs an act of faith on your part, and it will be made real to your spirit. Praise God!
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord (Ephesians 5:18-19).
Singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord is one of the ways to continually stay filled with the Spirit. Oftentimes, the Holy Spirit drops a song in your heart; you could wake up with a particular tune or melody in your spirit. Whenever that happens, donât suppress it; get in the flow of the Spirit and minister unto the Lord.
Thereâs so much power in music, especially when rendered unto the Lord. Itâs one of the spiritual weapons with which we prevail in the fight of faith: read the example of Paul and Silas in Acts 16:25-26. When you face challenges, sing unto the Lord! Sing until faith is stirred in your spirit. Sing with the Spirit and sing with understanding also (1 Corinthians 14:14)
Then, just like the prophet Ezekiel prophesied, the Spirit will stir you up, and set you upon your feet (Ezekiel 2:2). Heâll stir up words in you like, âGreater is He thatâs in me, than he thatâs in the world.â Before long, youâre âlostâ in the Holy Ghost, worshipping and singing in tongues.
You can stir up faith from within even now, by singing the right spiritual songs, and the business that was said to be dead will revive. The finances that were down will suddenly receive a supernatural boost! All these and more can happen by the power of the Holy Spirit, if youâd act on the Word; if youâd sing and make melody in your heart to the Lord as the Word instructs.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:10).
Itâs not enough to know Godâs Word as itâs contained in the written pages of the Bible; you have to release power through speaking! Thatâs how it works! With the Word on your lips, youâll live over and above all limitations and circumstances.
Voicing your faith is a fundamental spiritual principle, without which even the gift and blessing of salvation canât be received or activated. Notice the opening verse again: âFor with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvationâ (Romans 10:10).
The salvation package is delivered upon satisfying these two conditions: Believing and confessing the Lordship of Jesus. To believe isnât enough; there must be the corresponding verbal communication or affirmation of your faith.
When you speak the Word, what youâre doing is releasing the power of God into action on your behalf. For example, God instructed Joshua, âThis book of the law SHALL NOT DEPART OUT OF THY MOUTH; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good successâ (Joshua 1:8).
The Hebrew rendering of the word âmeditateâ is âhagah,â which means to ponder, imagine, murmur, mutter, speak, study, talk, utter, or roar. Itâs not just talking about you thinking the Word only, it means you ought to voice out the Word.
Notice that the instruction to Joshua doesnât make any mention of us speaking to anyone. So, it makes no difference whether or not anyone is listening to you, you just keep talking the Word. When matters arise, use the Word. Speak the Word and change things. The Word of God in your mouth is God talking.

Finding Home
When you love a woman, and she isn't really into you
You know it.
You either accept that she is not really into you or decide to convince her that she should be into you
For most men, convincing a woman to be into them requires intentional loving and provision
She gives you the room (her time) to prove yourself to her beyond a reasonable doubt while you hope your best as a man will be good enough.
Sometimes it is
Sometimes it is not
When it is, the woman collapses her defences and makes up her mind to be with you
When it is not, the woman chooses of her own free will to be with you until something better comes along
Many times, the man knows the woman will eventually leave him
This is not a matter of who is more beautiful or who is richer, or who is more accomplished
A woman who is not into you makes it obvious
She may sleep with you, and you may share the occasional wonderful time and experiences together
You might make her laugh so loud that she forgets her reservations and surrenders all to you for one moment
She might get pregnant and have children for you
A woman who will not stay with you knows you are not her final destination
That feeling is always there, that restlessness, being ill at ease, darting eyes, wandering soul, like that raven that Noah sent forth from the ark which found no resting place for its soul.
Some men desperately try to hold on to a woman who is not really into them
They try love, it fails
Then they try material things
They buy her cars, lavish her with gifts, get her pregnant as many times as possible within a short time frame, take her on trips, tries to make sure she doesn't settle down long enough in a place to develop any form of interest in another man
They try their best to control the inflow of traffic from her past, they control the stability of her present, they keep her in a whirlwind of their volatile attention until they burn out
Nobody can sustain a whirlwind romance and affair forever
At a point, both must settle down to life
At that point, she would leave
She might leave him for a janitor or shoe maker, or for a woman, or for nobody
She would leave
A woman knows when her place is not by your side, sir
Even when she is wearing your ring and bearing your name, she feels like she is just playing a role in a movie that she didn't write
When she is pregnant, she either sees the baby as hers or yours
The child is never ours, it is either My son or my daughter or your son or your daughter or your children
It is never ours
You can spend twenty years of your life being married to this woman
Once in a while, she will step out of the marriage and cheat on you codedly
You will never know unless she is ready to leave the life you have to offer
Cheating on you periodically is a way of exhaling
Marriage with you feels like drowning
Like a swimmer with her head underwater
When she cheats, she feels herself; she takes deep breaths
You can label her all you want
You can call her names and throw stones at her
You can judge her and call her accursed
You will be wrong
A woman who feels comfortable where she shouldn't be is a woman who has no preprogrammed destination in her destiny
Odysseus arrived on the island of Circe and fell deeply in love with the witch
He was so lost in love that he forgot all about Ittaca, but destiny wouldn't let him stay on that Island
His destination was Ittaca, and it was preprogrammed into him to return to his wife and son
A life he would feel comfortable in and call home.
If a woman can't call you home, you are just a hotel
She would check into you, sleep on your bed, bathe in your bathroom, make love in you, admire you, take selfies in you, and make contents in you
She will eat your meals and enjoy the luxuries you have to offer
You, however, can't make her stay forever
Every day she stays with you costs her heavily
She must check out and return to the place where she will feel at home.
The place may be a shack or with the most ugly man you have ever seen
She might walk out of your wealth willfully into poverty
If that is where she feels at home, that is where she will gravitate to, and there is nothing you can do about it
