Attorney Greg Hunter (@GTH) came onboard late in the case as standby counsel and wound up today as one of only two attorneys who can say their Jan. 6 client was acquitted on all counts.
I asked outside of court if he saw the acquittal coming:
The best part of this is watching so many fools who couldn’t point the War Colleges out on a map trying to tell one of their most famous professors that he’s wrong, either because Trump is a genius or because Tom isn’t lefty enough. Just glorious.
This war will be taught at War Colleges (assuming they still exist) and strategic studies programs for years to come as *the* case study in how operational successes do not lead to strategic victory.
Whoever that was should have Googled the name "Robert Bork" first. Everyone in the Public Integrity Section who was (and still is) in danger of getting fired should read about him.
Nothing good comes from this.
According to Reuters, a career prosecutor agreed to sign the motion to dismiss the Adams case to spare the others. But the judge can hold a hearing before granting the motion and ask for an explanation.

@OrinKerr@TaxLawProf The thought around here is that maybe they figured out there's at least some of the remote work they may want to keep.
Maybe not for good reasons.
@AdamJonesPod @SimplyAJ10 Stick with me here - imagine @SimplyAJ10, every year, in Cooperstown on induction Sunday, slapping a pie in the face of each new member as they finish their speech.
Who doesn't want to see that?
Adam Jones makes everything more fun.
I'm always effusive when my friend @RadioFreeTom posts a new article in @TheAtlantic because they are so prescient & descriptive of our current state.
But this is a masterpiece. It especially touches my soul as a former soldier. Thanks, Tom.

@TaxLawProf Not a new trend because it's not trending, or not a new trend because people have been doing it for a long time already?
Frankly I'm ready to believe either is true.
@ianoland The thing I really remember about those games? The old arena there was not small, but when he got on the ice you could hear his skates grinding over the sound of the crowd. There was that much power in his stride.
@ianoland I was living in Moscow when he was a kid playing with men on Dinamo. Everyone knew who his mom was. When the Caps drafted him I knew my hometown was going to love him.
Never thought he'd score 900 goals. But here we are.
@BravesAndBirds@SplitZoneDuo@38Godfrey I was very disappointed in the ESPN coverage of the Bama fans in the crowd. But I’m still betting there’s some great conspiracy theories being embraced right now as they look for explanations.
Also, what’s Georgia’s excuse now?
@jt_haines I don’t get the opposition to ramping up ammunition production to support Ukrainian defense, unless your goal is to just cede territory to Putin and let the world know the U.S. can’t be trusted to live up to their commitments.
@BravesAndBirds I thought their patchwork O line did remarkably well - especially with a new center - but that’s a lot of snaps against a great starting D line.
