🌱 Our collective mental health is important. So, the ‘Finding Oneself: A New Pathway to Queer Healing from Within’ session, under the Resilience and Healing track at the Conference, will share community-based approaches to healing trauma and fostering wellness, and offer strategies for trauma-informed care and peer support within queer communities.
It features a short presentation on mental health and trauma-informed care centred on LGBTQIA+ youth in West Africa, drawing from studies and experiences in Ghana and Nigeria, followed by a roundtable on diverse healing experiences and approaches to wellness. The space also includes a healing ritual grounded in connection and release, and an affirmative art therapy activity inviting self-love, resilience and acceptance through creativity.
