@KellyClarksonTV. Today, I am fighting cancer, and would love that positivity again. If you can, I could use a few quarters under my pillow. https://t.co/DlKD1Yw8sh

Really have to send out my appreciation for @WBAY's @BritSchmidtNews. She's interviewed me a few times for Gillett-related news, and she was always a consummate pro, fair, and engaging. Wishing you the best of luck in your new endeavors.

I may or may not have had a lot of dust in my eye at that particular moment.
Rearranging all the wall space in my office to accomodate this beautiful piece
Education is a tough business, y'all. It's these moments that remind you of what it is we do and why we do it.
A surprise in the last week of school: my staff secretly had a teacher (who was my former student) paint this tree on a canvas, then they went and got a fingerprint of every student in my school (color-coded by grade level) to create this beautiful painting.
Had a great time listening to @Joe_Sanfelippo's keynote at our joint inservice on Friday, and really treasured the time he took to speak with our administrators about our own leadership.
Wishing Joe the best of luck in his future, and hoping our paths cross again soon.
We are pleased to announce that our voters approved exceeding the revenue limit for $600,000 per year for the next 3 years. We appreciate all of your support! The Board, our staff, and our students send everyone a huge thank you!
Pretty excited to have the @GreenBayBlizz in to our school today to hype the kids up for Gillett Elementary Day at the Resch Center on Sunday. Huge props go out to @TyrellJacobs94, @bigjimbo_slice, and @King_Leota_77 for being great role models for our kids today. See you Sunday!
@VictoriaTheTech The picture is symbolic of what many in the public believe education is: throw money at teachers and they will grab it all.
It's such an unhealthy portrait to paint, and I wish those teachers would not have participated. This image will be a tipping point for many to leave.
@VictoriaTheTech My difficulty is this wasn't bringing in teachers to say, hey, here's some money for you at Christmas. Go enjoy. You deserve a nice night out or a car payment. Thank you for all you do.
No, the money was to literally to be used for school supplies.
As educators across the nation leave the profession and become more vocal about the reasons why, I get the feeling that the sweeping reforms to our educational system are on the horizon
...and will be led by teachers, not politicians, testing corporations, or lobbyists. #edchat
My daughter is a nurse. Since starting her career 2 years ago, she has gotten two raises and is making $37/hr.
She works alongside "travel nurses", experienced nurses who go anywhere in the US. They are making, at times, over $100/hr.
How long before we have "travel teachers"?
